Any American schools that don’t require standardized tests for an international transfer?
I really cannot make time for these tests during undergrad, and if anyone of you here have ever been in an UK undergrad, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
search for ‘test-optional’ colleges- they don’t require them for undergrads. Check the ones you are interested in, though, some are ‘test-optional’ only for US students. If you aren’t sure, email admissions & ask- A levels should see you right for most.

Most universities don’t seem to require SAT scores for junior-level transfers, except a few highly selective ones.
However, many selective universities will ask for standardized test scores from sophomore-level transfer applicants, in large part because only a single semester of university grades is available at the time of the application.
How many years of university do you intend to complete before the transfer? How selective of a university do you wish to attend? Any other restrictions? (location, major, cost, international reputation, etc)
I am struggling with the “too busy to take the SAT” argument. If you can’t find 4 hours on a Saturday once, how are you going to find the time to complete your applications, or to research which programs may be a good fit?
I have to say, I took the SAT whilst I was at university after not taking Math for 4 years and still managed to study for it. So it’s not going to swing as an excuse. Though there are schools that don’t need it - especially top schools like Amherst and Bowdoin.
@england2022 You’re right, me not taking the test can be summed up as an excuse, however there are no test centres nearby to where I am studying. I am attempting to get a test administered within my city, so let’s see how that goes.

My stats basically are: 38/45 for the IB DP.
You need to research “liberal arts colleges that offer good financial aid to international student applicants” & then refine that search to determine if the same level of financial aid is offered to transfer applicants.
If transportation is such an insurmountable obstacle to you in the UK, you wouldn’t cope well in the US. Imagine traveling 50 miles to the nearest airport or specialist physician, or 500 miles to the nearest British consulate should you ever lose your passport. All with minimal public transit.
Maybe it’s best if you just finish your degree where you are currently at.
