I just got my waitlist rejection by email. They said that they took very few students off the Engineering waitlist.
Well, I guess my relationship with Michigan is over. Thanks for having the worst admission process ever.

How in the world did you get rejected by Michigan and get accepted into UCLA? Are you a California resident?

Also, for those of you who have been waitlisted, it would be very helpful if you could post your stats for future reference. Students for the class of 2015 could learn a great deal from this thread if everyones’ stats were posted. Good luck to everyone.

Wolfpackfan, I know several students who were admitted into schools like Columbia, Dartmouth, Northwestern, Rice and even Stanford and were rejected by Michigan. It is not commonplace of course, but it happens, particularly if one applies in January.

rejected. *! i was betting on Michigan to get me out of england for good! Looks like I’ll be spending my next 3 years here. * **** ****!!! That would total 9 years since middle school =(

Best of luck to everyone here. Whether you get accepted or rejected, just do the best you can wherever you choose to attend school. I have a relative who wanted to go to Michigan so much, but was not initially accepted. She went to MSU instead and tried for two years to transfer to Ann Arbor. She had stellar grades at State and still no offer of admission. She ended up graduating with honors from MSU. Now she will be attending graduate school…at Michigan! She was never bitter and kept a great attitude. I know she can’t until the falll term to matriculate and say, “Go Blue!” Sometimes things happen for a reason. Keep that in mind as you go through college.

Rejected from waitlist. Accepted to NYU and Michigan State James Madison. Basically, with a scholarship for MSU have a full ride there. Not bitter, it is just working out to be a better fit program wise for me. Who knows where I will attend Grad school. I do agree though, of all of the schools I applied to by far Michigan has the worst admissions process. I know of people who had perfect scores on the ACT and SAT and a 4.0 gpa, were well rounded and were flat out rejected by Michigan. They are attending MIT and Princeton. Michigan is missing out on some really great students.

And now I hear today about a football recruit accepted to the U of M who was involved in several breaking and entry crimes. Nice Michigan. Good luck with that. Why don’t you make Bo do a couple of more turns in his grave.
