UM Waitlist 2014 Discussion and Decisions

my son’s link has been gone too. I remeber reading on last yrs threads that when that happens , you get a decision next day.

If that’s true, then good luck everyone. Hope it works out for you. =)

My view decision button has disappeared too!
I pray to my gods that this is a good sign :)

so theoretically I had a significantly higher chance of getting accepted to MIT than getting accepted of UM waitlist? :):):)

but, I am an international candidate, so my chances go even lower, right?

so i wonder if everyone’s view decision link is gone or just people who will get a decision soon

maybe everyone’s has gone

mines gone as well, in 08 this didnt happen to people until july 2nd so if the run is over, at least we can thank michigan for giving us a decision a month earlier

my son’s link -decision will be arriving in the mail - meaning rejected?

mine says the same thing. rejected maybe or everyone will be notified by mail? anyone get a different message on their view decision link?

its kind of early compared to last year for rejections. last year people didn’t hear no until around the 26th

Logically, that would be a rejection. Because if its an acceptance, they’d require you to accept the offer online.

my decision button had disappeared… but now its back, and when i click on it says

“decision will be coming in mail”

why dont they just tell that I got rejected, like 90% of the universities in North America tell candidates about their decision?
i highly doubt that anyone got accepted of the waitlist this year, as Michigan had already accepted more people than their allocated class size…

“a decision will be arriving in mail” too.

I was told they were going to accept only few even if they did so it looks like that’s what happen - dont get disheartened by this guys. go to your second choice of college and work very hard so you can go to a top grad school .

a decision will be arriving in mail too
i am sure it is rejection

“a decision will be arriving in mail” too. everyone here has got that… looks like they din’t need to consider waitlisted candidates.

ME:so is there anyway I can get a firm conclusive answer about my decision?
UM: No, I can’t give that information over chat I’m sorry
ME: You don’t know or you can’t?
UM: I can’t
ME: ok I get it. Thanks
UM: Have a great day!

Michigan: Hi, my name is Jennifer. How may I help you?

me: A lot of waitlist people got a decision will be arriving in the mail under the view decision link last night and for the april 15 decisions anyone who got that ended up with a rejection letter. Michigan will not be taking people off the waitlist then? ARe all the mail decisions the same answer?

michigan: Michigan is taking some students off the waitlist. Not all decisions are rejection letters

michigan: They are not all the same

me: so some of the decisions in the maill could be acceptances?

michigan: Yes

me: ok thank you

I’m not sure I believe this.

not telling the decision online is a stupid way.
the letter will fly more than half a month to my country without guarantee whether it will miss or not. and i need I20 form now!!

@ktMI14: So unusual.
