UMass- Amherst Class of 2019 Regular Decision

@segn55 and @kdubya15 thank you very much. That is a relief >:D< . Where was the student id printed on that letter?

@ddsmomboston My daughters name and spire id# were on the left side of the letter above the options to check. The spire id# and student id# must be the same thing as there was only the spire id#.

@segn55 that is helpful, wonder how i missed that! Waiting for her spire account to get updated after they receive the letter.

It got awfully quiet here. I guess everyone has their decision.

Guys just a question about tuition and fees for international students… I went on their website and it says the total will be $41,720. And they would consider me as an oos student. However, somewhere else the total fee is $49,220 which kind of confuses me. Could anybody please tell me as to which is the correct fees for umass amherst? Thank you

I paid the $500 deposit. How much time does it take to get reflected on my SPIRE.

It should be at MAX ~41k to attend out of state with boarding, this isn’t true for most students though as they tend to give you a little $ to help pay the higher tuition. There give some students, with average academics, an 8k scholarship to compensate for the extra OOS fees, but this isn’t true for every student.

thanks @Halcyon77 i did receive 8k chancellors scholarship so i think ill have to pay 11k per semester. Thank you

Hello!
My name is Prax,I’m an International accepted Student. Can someone please help with a few queries of mine, these are regarding the Maths Placement Test.

  1. What Are the topics tested on test?
  2. Which books should I refer to for studying for the test?
  3. What's the difficulty level?
  4. Is the Test Similar to SAT 1 Math?
  5. Will the study materials for SAT 1 Math suffice for this test? 6.Is Calculus a part of it?

Sorry for deviating from the main topic of discussion,But I believe this post will be mutually beneficial to all of us!

Best,
Prax

@praxsubba I gave the Math Placement Test and to be honest it was really very easy. Easier than SAT-1 Math. You can attempt it without any specific preparation. The Part A has some basic questions regarding algebra, exponents and calculations using BODMAS. The second Part features questions on trigonometry which are basic ones as well.

Do I have to take the English Placement Exam by May 31 even though I’ll be attending the NSO in July ?

@remphin where did you get that May 31 date from?
