My DD got accepted into UMASS EA and there was no mention of any schloarships on the acceptance letter? Does that come at a later point?

From their website: "In general, entering students do not need to participate in a separate scholarship application process in order to be considered for UMass Amherst scholarships. When you file your application for admission by the stated application deadline, you are also automatically considered. In many cases, scholarship notification accompanies the acceptance letter.

Ask the school.

I called admissions earlier this week and they said scholarships letters are included with the admissions acceptance packet.

@jventola What are your child’s stats? Is there a reason why you expect her to get awarded a scholarship?

What does that school typically do? Award to the top 10% of applicants? More? Less?

@mom2collegekids She is #6 in her class which is in the top 4% of her class and has a 4.34 GPA. I just would have assumed she would have received some sort of merit schlorship.
@jventola what were her test scores (ACT or SAT) as compared to the top quartile of admitted students?
@madison85 her SAT scores were in the 1900’s I don’t remember the exact amount. How do I find that out compared to admitted students?
I used Google.
What are her SAT Critical Reading and her Math scores?
For 2013, middle (25th to 75th percentile) CR is 540-640 and for Math it is 570-670 at UMass.
She might be around 75th percentile, maybe merit goes to students who are 90th or 95th percentile and up.
Oh i see okay thank you so much!
