Umass Amherst / Stony Brook / TAMU / IUB / UIowa for CS?

I'm an international transfer student majoring in computer science and I've got admissions from these five schools.I want to pursue the master degree in the future.Which college do you think is more reputed and will help me get into a good graduate program?

I know Umass is well-ranked in computer science in graduate school.Does its undergraduate program is better than the others as well?TAMU also has a good CS program and higher national ranking. And among these five schools,Stony Brook is 16k/year cheaper than others.Which college should I go?

Can you give us (tuition+ R&B) - (grants+scholarships) = ?
What’s your parents’ budget?
Did you get into the Honors College at any?

Thank you for your reply MYOS1634.

Total Estimated Expense Per Year

stony brook 30k
umass amherst 38k
IUB 43k
u of iowa 37k
TAMU 38K

The budget is enough as I will transfer as a junor. I didn’t get into the Honors College.

I’d choose between UMass and TAMU. Both are good for CS.
TAMU is larger, big campus, very conservative (considered one of the most conservative in the country), hot and humid half the year but pleasant weather the other half, rural.
UMass is in the 5-college system (so you can take classes from some of the best colleges in the country), great college town, Boston accessible, cold and snowy half the year but pleasant weather the other half.
If costs matter, I’d choose Stony Brook, but keep in mid it’s primarily a commuter/suitcase campus so it won’t be as easy to make friends and find activities for an international, since most students will go home on weekends.
If costs don’t matter and I were an international student I’d pick UMass Amherst for the opportunities to visit great East Coast cities, to experience the college town of Amherst (which is really nice) and for the 5 college consortium, which is really an incredible opportunity. However if you don’t like snow, love hot&humid weather, or are very conservative, TAMU would be a better choice.

MYOS1634,thank you for your detailed explanation.

Actually,I’m also considering choosing between UMASS and TAMU.

UMASS:
As you said,Amherst is a nice college town and its weather is more like that of my hometown. But as you know,CS courses are tough and I’m a junior,I think I may not have opportunity to experience the 5 college consortium.

TAMU:
I don’t mind its conservative tradition. But it’s too hot there, maybe I should experience that kind weather…Also, the number of students in TAMU is nearly twice than UMASS,I was wondering if the professor will be available .

Do you know which one have more reputed undergraduate CS program?Which one of them will help me better prepare for graduate study?

What will matter most for graduate schools is your GPA, classes taken, and resume (internships, programming experience, competitions/prizes).
Where you went to school will matter much less than these components.
A slight nudge to region: If you’re hoping to attend grad school in the Northeast, UMass is probably a better choice, and if you intend to attend school in the Southwest, TAMU is the better choice.
But overall, if your goal is grad school (especially if you want a Master’s to get an H1B) what will be most important is your GPA and resume.

update:

I decide to go to umass amherst,it’s more suitable for me,thank you for your help.
