Hey guys please take a look at my stats thanks!
SAT I: 730 cr&w 780 math
GPA: WGPA-3.5
Lots of ECs and really good teacher recs
Also in state
Better than for Tufts but still going to be a reach. I would look at their annual review or cds. Problem the average uw is 3.7. Same advice as the other thread.
Hmmm don’t think this school would be a reach. I just looked at the scattergrams on Naviance and lots of green checkmarks where I am placed Plus I am in state so check your facts please
Then why ask us if you already know? But just to double check I googled umd college park average gpa
Average GPA 4.20 (based on weighted GPAs)
Your 3.5w though excellent is well below 4.20. As I mentioned in your tufts thread there are offsetting qualities that can help you. And these are chance threads. With an avg gpa of 4.2 someone who is a regular student would be a reach with. 3.5 w in my book. But I’m not an admissions officer at the school.
Best of luck. You’ll be fine.
If you are applying for engineering at UMD, your GPA is going to be a problem, even for instate.
I am not applying for engineering definitely
UMD College Park admission is not as easy as before. If you don’t apply EA, your chance of being admitted is greatly diminished. Many of the instate applicants even with high GPA and test scores are now admitted through Freshmen Connection (spring semester admit with some fall classes enrollment allowed). Totally agree with @privatebanker assessment on OP’s chance.
Hey what are my chances for umd college park and umbc
I have
1310 sat
3.38 unweighted
3.7 weighted (4.4 junior year)
8-10 ec’s
@qewerty5050 what’s your ranking and what specific extracurriclars u involved in?
My ranking is about 90th and I have worked at a place for 2 years and now have an internship. I have about 7-8 volunteer or ecs
@privatebanker I got in Guess you were wrong!
@future2023. That’s great. Congrats.
But to be fair. I think I said “best of luck you’ll be fine”. And you have “other qualities they may be looking for”
I’m happy for you. And not surprised.
question- when does RD come out?? I’m also OOS (virginia), kinda worried but usually 50% who apply from my school get in
