I’m a freshman at Temple University and I really don’t feel like this college is the right fit for me. I want to go back to Maryland, which is where I’m from, and attend UMD at college park. My unweighted GPA in high school was 2.95 and my weighted was 3.5. I was on sport all four years at my high school (jv cheer, novice crew, varsity crew 2 years). Right now I’m in the process of completing 16 credits and I have all As and two Bs so far. I’m trying to transfer for the spring semester of my freshman year, but I missed the priority deadline. I’m a white female in the upper middle class. I got a 1710 and a 1760 on the old SAT. What are my chances of getting into college park for the spring semester?
Hello, for transfer students if you have 30 credits at the time you apply then they would not consider your high school gpa. That being said, for someone that is coming from a 4 year university like myself, it is harder to get into college park because a lot of community colleges in maryland have agreements with UMD and they get priority admission. Usually if you have a 3.0 completed your English and Math credits, and make sure you apply by the priority deadline then u have a good chance of getting in. I myself am in the exact same position as you with coming from a PA university and trying to transfer back into my home state Maryland! I applied for the Aug 1st priority deadline and I am currently waiting for admission. As for your high school stats Im not really sure about how it looks for getting in but I know a lot of people on here know the SAT process for getting into this school, I just know the transfer aspect haha :)>-
