UMD Honors vs. UCLA

Well I was admitted to these two schools and rejected by all my other choices :-( (except waitlisted at WashU) so now I have to make a decision about which I want to attend. I'm most likely going to study molecular bio/neurosci...maybe double major or a minor in business...any suggestions on where i should go??

thanks all

Is money an issue for you? Assuming that you're out-of-state, be prepared to pay the hefty UCLA non-CA tuition.

haha yea there is a big difference in tuition, and of course its always somewhat of a topic...however, either way ill be going to school and having it all paid for..im a lucky guy :-)

go to UCLA, UMD is good, but after having many friends go to UMD over the years and grovel about academics, I would suggest tryign UCLA

hm if your tuition will be paid for then go to UCLA

If your tuition is taken care of, go to UCLA.

I guess the one thing that worries me is the level of competition for "pre-meds" and the seeming lack of support at such a big university. I know UMD is equivalent in size, but since I am in the honors program, I will have more advisors, and smaller classes (for some of them). Also, UMD isn't known to be as competitive (right?) and what I've seen on the pre-med forums is that getting into med-school is mostly about gpa and mcats (which would be easier with more support/less competition) On top of that I'd be going in out of state not knowing anyone...in my mind it seems like a disadvantage of sorts..any other opinions on that?

so anyone want to calm my nerves about being at such a large school haha? are the advisors/peers helpful?

thanks all
