physics BS in UMD and OSU
physics BA in U of M
I will like to continue my physical research path in graduate school or change to EE
UMD is better at physics but seems OSU has better circumstance and higher rank
Considering that I’m an international student and don’t know really much about those colleges, I will appreciate any advices.
Thanks
UMD = Maryland but OSU = Ohio or Oklahoma or Oregon and UofM = Michigan, Minnesota…?
if Maryland, Ohio, Oregon, and Minnesota, they’re all similar. Michigan is one tier above and Oklahoma one tier below. Precise rankings vary, so make rough groupings of about 20 or 25 universities to have an idea.
Were you admitted to the Honors college or a special program at any of these?
Sorry for mistake
They’re Ohio state university and Minnesota
I have applied for Michigan but my GPA is too poor=-=
nothing special just normal transfer
All three are equivalent academically, so choose the least expensive one, unless one admitted you to the Honors college or a scholars program (which would tilt the results in their favor).
UMD has milder weather, less snow, shorter winters. Large, nice campus but sketchy area, offset by easy access to DC.
tOSU is an urban campus, the city is more college-centered, long winters with snow and gray skies, big football craze.
UofM is in a nice neighborhood in a huge city, very cold in the winter (long, icy winters with blue skies), larger than the other two, big athletics (hockey, football). Reputation for “Minnesota nice”.
Thanks so much!
