Don't be so glum Eckie, UMD is a great school!

Oh I agree and last week, I was at the point where I was ready to ALMOST pick it over UPenn. However, the situation totally changes when you lose your ability to choose.

One of my friends who attends UPenn went to go visit UMD last year and she said she almost cried and wished she instead gone to UMD. That swayed me a little bit haha.

Eckie...I would not eliminate Wake Forest, or any school for that matter, from contention just because you are on the waitlist. Obviously, they don't take 100% of students off a waiting list but there is still a shot. You might as well throw your hat in the ring if you have any amount of interest at all.

im waitlisted at wake forest and BC
into marylands business school
waiting on michigan and emory...

we will see i guess

is wake forrest that hard to get into?

no. I'm actually pretty annoyed at a ton of people on CC and that I know personally with lower stats than me getting in. I think theyre pretty hung up on demonstrated interest.

yeah im deciding inbetween maryland villanova and BU communications. Feel free to make my decision for me because i do nottttttttttt want to.

why don't i just turn in the enrollment?? I am crazy. Thats it, i am crazy. I can't make up my damn mind. I know i am going to maryland. Like 99.5% and everytime i go to enroll i stop.

I first think that maybe I want to go to wisconsin and then realize that wisconsin is just to big and i am in no programs at all. I am not even in a school. I don't even know anyone going there. i would be just one person out of 40,000. At Maryland I feel i have a place. If i include distant family members, who aren't really distant in terms of how much we talk together, I have had like 13 people from my family go to UMD. I am in scholars business and in the smith school so i am not lost at maryland. I have tons of friends going and family members there now. At wisconsin i am in the arts and sciences school like everyone else. I feel really lost when I think of it. I have no place there. At maryland it feels like I have a spot reserved for me. Wisconsin just is "better" than maryland though.

Then there is PSU. I like it,and i have all the security I do at UMD. I am in the sapphire program and the business school. I have a place again. It is considered slightly better but moreso the sapphire program is nice. It just costs a lot.

I go back and forth, back and forth and do it again. I just need to enroll.

Lastly, i start thinking I can ask for more financial aid. Can I ask for more aid after enrolling?? Can I enroll at two schools?? Why can't i just decide? I am crazy, just crazy.

Thank you for listening to my rant.

Seriously Cheapseats. As a fellow MoCo student and friend, I am telling you to GO TO PENN STATE. Yeah it costs more but seriously can you really put a price tag on a priceless education and experience. You're in the sapphire program which is amazing and the Smeal school of Business is world class. You will have no problem getting a job with the thousands of PSU alumus. College Park is just to close to home and at University Park there is so much more that is offered. Hopefully I'll see you at State College,PA next fall. You know you dont want to go to Maryland. Its the same old thing Wootton all over again, except bigger.

bdoan, thanks for the kind words. I have already enrolled at UMD. I have loved UMD for a while and that has nothing to do with academics. I guess it is close and I guess there will be people from my school there but I don't mind that much. It has its benefits. With the 13,000 I save I'll could get a lot. Everyone has the college that fits for them and mine is UMD.

that's the spirit.

umd rocks your socks.

yeah, i think everyone is in the spirtit now. I had 5 people i know enroll today so it is picking up steam. M-A-R-Y-L-A-N-D MARYLAND WILL WIN!!
