Trying to decide between Cornell and Miami, was accepted to both. I would be in the Human Ecology (state tuition) school at cornell, and received a large scholarship at miami, so money is not the principal issue. I want to be pre-med... there are pros and cons to both... any input on social life, academics, etc. would be greatly appreciated. thanks

In terms of prestige, Cornell is the clear winner here. But I, personally, would still pick UM because of the location and other factors. It really depends on how you weight factors other than academics. If I were you, I would visit both schools. Ithaca and Miami are such different places all around.

Hopefully SVMMom will see this and reply. Her daughter was in the same situation and is now a junior (?) at UM - studying this semester in the Galapagos - not sure Cornell has that opportunity to offer.
