My son has been accepted into these schools and will be visiting each again but is very undecided. He will be studying Business (Finance, Accounting or Econ most likely) and wants to work in NYC after graduation. He is looking for a good work / fun balance. Would welcome any thoughts on these schools.
S attends Wake (Freshmen) and is in the same course of study. Excellent school and resources. When you say NYC I assume you mean banking. Although more of a target for Charlotte, Wake places very well in IB in NYC, especially for it’s size. Has many of the major banks on campus recruiting. A great source of info is the OPCD (career services) page on Wake’s site. They actually account for student outcomes on an individual student basis (based on info provided). 2016 had a 92% knowledge base (meaning 92% of the grads responded to survey to provide first destination info) and 98% of them were either working or in grad school within 6 months (not just the business school, the WHOLE SCHOOL). You can look at the spread sheets and see exactly where each kid is placed. Lots of NY investment banking jobs last yr. You can also see a master spread sheet detailing the past 10+ yrs.
S is having a blast there in all phases of college life.
Don’t know much about Holy Cross or Miami. Was also interested and admitted to Richmond. We visited. looks like a great place and close to a cool city. Can’t go wrong with that either.
