Richmond Vs HOly Cross vs Wake Forest

Thoughts in Above schools for possible accounting major…son likes all 3 with a Richmond being at the top. Concern with Richmond is job placement in NYC area…thoughts on these 3 schools ?

U.S. News publishes early career salary data. Of the the above schools, UR graduates report the highest earnings (followed by those of Wake Forest). This may correlate with job placement generally. If your son likes Richmond, he would have reason to feel confident with the choice.

Three great choices. That’s a choice where it’s probably best to go with the school he most prefers, and is accepted. They might have some slight advantages/disadvantages if looking here or there, or a specific aspect of the major, but really there won’t be a significant difference in one’s prospects graduating from one school or the other. Good luck!

I am not familiar with the others but know Wake has a top notch accounting program. For at least the past 20 years it generally has had the highest % of graduates pass the CPA of any colleges in the nation on the first try and it’s rare for their students to graduate without jobs. The majority are hired by the Big Four - and can start with the Big Four anywhere in the nation - and most have multiple job offers.

Can’t go wrong with any of those choices.
I know that Holy Cross has a very active NYC Alumni club, which results in networking events for students beginning freshman year, as well as mentoring, shadowing and internship opportunities. There is definitely a NYC connection for jobs after graduation.

The top accounting firms interview on campus at schools all over. They will then refer a candidate they want to puruse further to the office in the area they are interested in for the second (office) interview. It is an extra step but it really isn’t an issue. For example my S went to Notre Dame and is at a Big 4 firm in NYC. He did the majority of his second interviews over a school break (to minimize his need to travel) and one firm he could not interview with over break paid the airfare/cabs for him to come back to NY for his office interview.
