Waitlisted, OOS 1400 SAT, strong essay, lots of EC. My email also mentions two year transfer option? Do all applicants receive that offer or no?
@evan3638 haven’t received an email at all from UM. Found out through the portal, but now when I try to view my decision again, the box is completely empty? Anybody else have this problem?
I did not receive an email yet but decided to look any way and see if a decision was posted. And it was! I am waitlisted. Out of state act 35 sat 1560. National Merit Finalist. 4.0 gpa (uw) 4.54 ( w) 11 ap courses. Congrats to all who were accepted!
Rejected from industrial engineering. OOS, 1440 sat (760M, 680CR), strong essays, great EC:s and recommendations. It’s all good though because I’m now officially a trojan
Have they released all decisions yet?
I still haven’t received my decision from the college of architecture
No matter how much of a great candidate you might think you are, apply early folks! I think a lot of us that were waitlisted or rejected that had competitive stats and such got the short end of the stick because we decided to apply regular. I didn’t know applying regular decision was synonymous to late… what can you do though. Oh well, I was always leaning MSU as it is just as great for the program I’m looking into and I’m excited to be a Spartan! Being waitlisted just made my decision easier. Congrats to those who got in and good luck to those who didn’t! Always remember, as great as it may be to have the University of Michigan on your diploma, you make the school, the school does not make you! It’s all about your personal determination and ambition to push through and make a name for yourself:)
Did everyone get a paragraph about transferring at the bottom of their rejection letter?
@exoheat11 What did the paragraph about transferring say?
@99mich "
Because college is an important next step, we encourage you to make enrollment plans at another college or university. Many applicants who are not admitted to the University of Michigan as freshmen continue their interest in U-M and enter as transfer students. You may wish to consider applying after successfully completing two years of study at another college or university. Our website contains more information about transfer guidelines at admissions.umich.edu/apply/transfer-students."
^ what it said
Lol i still havent received a decision, should I worry?
My D has not received a decision yet either.
Anyone accepted to Stamps yet?
Does anyone know what is the latest date for decisions?
Thanks!
@RUHTRA999 no idea, still waiting for mine
It’s April 5th folks. The admissions process at Michigan is unnecessarily protracted and opaque. We’ve heard from all the other schools for a while now, but not a peep from Michigan. “So many applicants” is a poor excuse since every selective school is dealing with the same thing. It seems like they’re waiting for acceptances at other schools to drop out to improve their yield. We live in Ann Arbor, but my one twin has committed to go elsewhere (she has notified Michigan) and the other is leaning that way as well. Still, after having gone through this long college admissions process, I feel the pain of folks still dealing with uncertainty. Michigan spends amazingly big money on new athletic facilities. If resources are the issue, how about some money for the admissions office?
@nmcorm exactly. i’m literally so frustrated. i know this is the RD thread, but i submitted my app EA (ea thread is dead) got deferred, so techincally i’ve been waiting for almost 6 months. HALF A YEAR for a reply from a college? basically, it’s gotten to the point where even if i do get admitted now, i don’t even feel like going. i got into my 2nd choice and i’m fine with it. im so mad
@uofmfan It’s no consolation I know but the University never specified a date on which RD (and deferred) decisions would be released. At the same time, prudence would dictate that you make alternative plans. Most decisions have now been released, and it isn’t practical to count on another “wave” of acceptances at this time.
Look at past years’ threads. The same thing happened last year.
Michigan is accepting students off the waitlist this year. Admissions counselor emailed me saying offers within be released likely at the end of May. However, a friend of mine just was taken off the waitlist today!
Good luck and Go Blue!
