UMich Class of 2025 -- Regular Decision

Probably this Friday

I’m curious whether/if what you’ve stated is true about the correlation b/t test scores and yield. One could argue the opposite (depending on the school too). A higher test score might be a “flight risk” as those students above (say) a 33 could feasibly be offered admission almost anywhere. Either way, it is almost certain that the length of waitlists will wreak havoc on everyone this year

Is April 2nd confirmed?

Michigan doesn’t confirm decision releases.

Is there a chance they will release today?

I highly doubt it. They tend to release on Friday’s

only fridays after luring on cc in forever

Schools such as SMTD, Taubman and STAMPS have their own timelines. However, LSA, CoE, Kinesiology, Nursing, etc., will release RD decisions on Fridays, like last Friday 3/26.

This coming Friday 4/2 is a strong possibility.

My daughter was accepted into Taubman (Urban Tech) last Friday. I know it is a small school, but I am not sure if they spread out the decisions or not.

Taubman enrolled 34 applicants in my D’s class (2022), so it’s very small. Your kid could be the last or the next admittance could be today/tomorrow/next week/next month. It’ll just depend on how many students enroll.

They did add a new program, Urban Technology ( Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Urban Technology | Taubman College of Architecture & Urban Planning) which (I assume) will push up their numbers . . . though I do not know how big it is. Shared with you as you seem to be the repository for UMich knowledge here.

Any idea when decisions for international students are going to be released?

Best guess is Friday 3pm eastern time.

Just got off the phone with an admissions counselor. She said I am not confirming anything but its most probably Friday, 2/4 for everyone who is left.

It looks like an interesting major. Did something particular about it appeal to your daughter? I would think it would appeal to people with a wide range of interests.

I know my daughter is interested in urban agriculture / food insecurity issues and thought of this as a possible path toward a solution. She will be weighing it against the engineering schools at Cooper Union and Carnegie Mellon and, assuming she is accepted, the Science and Public Policy track at Barnard and Cornell’s CALS. (She had also applied to Harvey Mudd, but was not accepted there). I suspect she has some research ahead of her next month to sort the options out.

My daughter was really excited when she found the program. She is a GIS (geographic information systems) specialist and has worked on several city and community projects during high school. Her favorite has been an urban planning project. I’m not sure where she’ll end up. She’s still waiting on a few decisions.
