Thank you so much for everything!!!

Yeah ofc I want to help in any way I can!

Is there a limit to a number of credits you can have when you apply. If I apply next semester with 65 credits and 15 in progress will I be auto rejected? Also even if I were to get in I can only transfer 60 credits so I will waste 20 credits.

Just received a rejection letter half an hour ago.

Application submitted on 1/28. Checklist completed on 2/1.

Stats:
4.0 College GPA
4.15 / 4.3 High school GPA (unweighted)
1440 SAT (didn’t submit)
64 transferrable credits
Applying from UCSD

“The quality of academic work you demonstrated last semester was impressive, and it was noted in the evaluation of your application. If your interest in attending the University of Michigan continues, you should continue to build upon the strong academic performance you have shown and update your application for consideration for the next available term. Please request this update in writing prior to the deadline of your desired new term of entry. Also include the name of the institution you are attending, course title(s), course number(s), and number of credit hours you will complete prior to the desired term of entry. Does any one of you have an idea of what they mean by this? Gosh I am so depressed ive been waiting for the decision to come out since I saw people received their result on 2/4 and yet this…I think I have put much more effort into transfer than I did for undergraduate application…

Don’t lose hope! Probably you are just over-qualified. I would recommend you to email the admissions officers that you want to update your application to a new term if you really love this school. Also, include what he mentions in your email.

Omg I am so sorry. Makes no sense to me why you didn’t get accepted. Out of state bothered them? We are in Michigan and can tell you I have seen students I thought would get in- either after high school or transfer- and didn’t. And then some get in that made had not great credentials at all. Very frustrating that their decisions are so erratic. My son trying for transfer too. I have no idea what will happen. My daughter tried to transfer 2020- 4.0 out of Michigan State- denied. Her friend- also out of Michigan State- 3.5 admitted. They do love students with family alumni- which we have none. Again, so sorry.

Is this your first time apply Umich?

My friend’s withdraw button just disappeared. Is this a sign that he will receive the decision either today or tomorrow?

today around six I believe

On second check I did email the correct email “transfers” not “transfer” I wonder why I’ve gotten no email back. I think I’ll make a call to them tomorrow to see what’s up.

Yeah I am planning to send them an email regardging an update. Thank you for your advice!

Yeah I didn’t apply to Umich for freshman

I don’t know this year’s admmitting cases have been particularly weird TAT I can accept a rejection letter I am just confused about which part of my application went wrong

I really don’t like being so negative on here but I’m having a hard time getting over the rejection. I don’t know where I went wrong, I spent almost 100 hours on my essays. I know my gpa was a little low but I thought I was admissible. UM has been my dream school since middle school. I’m taking summer classes so I’ll have almost 80 credits by the time I transfer if I get in winter 2023.

Anybody else has this? Was this friend OOS and regular decision or deferred?

so sorry to hear, am not familiar with transfers but calling shouldn’t hurt. Maybe someone else can advice.

I am so sorry for that. Please know that we are always with you. If you love University of Michigan, never give up. I believe God will reward you finally!

Also, please email them to update your term for application (such as 2022 Winter). Just try again. Also, update your rewards, leadership positions, or courses grade you have in that email.

Wish you the best and please feel free to let us know any update or question!

You can do it!

I looked up the common data set just to see if they had anything for transfers. They do it isn’t super insightful tho but there is mention of transfer credit. You can transfer 60-62 credits but there doesn’t seem to be a cut off of how many credits you can have to apply! I’d definitely reach out to admissions about the winter term! I’ve seen many people not get in the first time around but get in the second!
