UMich Fall 2022 Transfer Thread

Congratulations! Do you know how many credits you had, or when you completed your checklist?

I hope when they say “early” April they mean April 1-3 rather than April 7th, I want to know so bad

Hey everyone! I am reapplying for Winter 2023 and I want to strengthen my application so I get accepted next time. I’ve been talking to someone who claims to have some inside knowledge of the admission process. She has done extensive research regarding freshmen and transfer admissions at UMICH and is a queen at getting people accepted to this school. She also knows exactly what to write in the essays that will catch the eye of AOs at U of Michigan. She gave me permission to share this with you guys so y’all know what this school is looking for. Hopefully this will help you understand why you were accepted or denied.

Thank you and best of luck of your application!

The only different opinion I have from the document is: the UMich admissions officer I contacted said he doesn’t encourage me to submit SAT scores because that’s not considered in the admissions process. But in case SAT is considered, I self-report my scores.

The document stated SAT only matters if you have less than 55 credits.

Frankly I think we need to be more cautious toward people who claim to have insider information if they are not school representatives themselves. There are many amazing guidance college counselors out there for sure, but the fact she is so confident makes me doubtful about it.

Asian -7 is offensive ngl

Yeah…this document looks like a joke. No school would publish such a highly offensive and litigious document.

I am skeptical because UM also states that excessive AP participation is not recommended from their website and it seems like a plus according to the article? Well rigor matters but not to such extend lmao. I am not from Michigan, but Michigan CC defiantly has their perks instead of being a -2 or something like that. This is a worthy document not in terms of its accuracy, but it defiantly is if people take partial of it as a checklist in terms of extracurriculars etc - which we can check ourselves from commonapp. Additionally they did not take essay much into consideration? What?

Agreed. Such a thing – if legitimately associated with the school – would be cause for serious criticism. Some kind of point system (especially based around race) was a clear giveaway that someone probably made this up.

Her husband has worked in admissions before. And of course no school will publish something like this, all insider knowledge. Also this might be slightly outdated (This was created in 2018). Say what you want, but she can predict exactly whether or not you will get in, and for $6000 she will help you get in.

If you think the transfer document is wild you should see the freshmen one lol.

Hey bestie,

This is a scam. I hate to say it but when someone guarantees 100% admission success with mounts of money, it is a solid red flag. I get that there are many private college guidance counselors and they may know slightly more than us after years of experiences in their field. However, things are more doubtful especially to a world-class university and a 4.0 and 1600 will not get you into these schools. I understand that you really wants to be in Michigan so badly and I believe you can achieve this goal on your own instead of 100% trust on a stranger to achieve that goal. On the other hand, if the resources is reliable, this will put Michigan on much worse trails than “lonely m” because it is evident that Asians were held back and discriminated for being themselves. Additionally, if this is so precious and reliable, she would keep it to herself to get much more profit from being silenced by UMich, let alone that it is not possible to be true.

After all, I love you and wish you nothing but the best for your future endowments. Best wishes and feel free to PM me about your thoughts instead of us spamming the forum.

Edited: Lastly, There are people accepted by ivies but deferred or waitlisted by UMich in freshman application- are they not qualified in terms of GPA, extracurricular, characteristics for UMich??

If this is actually a real document, I wouldn’t want to attend UMich. Point systems for race/economic disadvantages sounds HORRIBLE. Also celebrities being 50+ points?? Sounds really dishonest and disappointing
