My EFC is $25,000...Michigan offered only $1,600 in grant and $5,500 in loans...so I have to find $43,000!!! This figure is almost double my EFC!

Does anyone have any advice?

Forget Michigan. For OOS and international students, Michigan is unfortunaly generally only designed for the wealthy. There are exceptions of course, thanks to some merrit scholies and occasionally generous financial aid, but by and large, OOS and international students are not given much in way of aid.

I hope this changes in coming years, as Michigan’s endowment grows larger, but at the moment, the University simply does not cater to middle-lower income families. We lose so much talent to other universities as a result.

But from your previous post, I see you have the option of going to PSU, which is a great university in its own right. You will have much fun there. Perhaps you can do Michigan for grad school.
