good point

but the only problem is…will i have an opportunity to meet with them and build a strong relationship with them? leading to research opportunities? there are a lot of students at UMich

I don’t know about the engineering department, but just in general for UMich, if you really make the effort, go to office hours and do good work, getting to know professors isn’t hard. If you’re not the kind of person that does those things then meeting professors would be pointless in any case

well thats good to hear meeting professors is not difficult

“there are a lot of students at UMich”

You realize PSU is large than Michigan right?

There are over 8,000 undergraduates in engineering at PSU

There are approximately 5,600 in Ann Arbor.

Check out the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program at the University of Michigan ([Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program | The University of Michigan](Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) | U-M LSA)). You can do research as a first semester freshman. All you have to do is sign up after you’ve admitted. There are about 1,000 research projects specifically set aside for freshman and sophomore students.

yes there are a lot of engineering students at PSU but because I would be in the honors program I would get more opportunities to meet with and be close with professors

Unless your getting a lot of money from PSU, there is no reason to go there over UM if you’re doing engineering.

okay thank you

Even with the honors program these two schools aren’t really in the same league. If you get into both, go to Michigan.
