UMichigan Ann Arbor EA Class of 2021 Applicants

You aren’t evaluated for Ross until you are accepted to UMich so if you asked for preferred it’s already in the works!
Congrats! @ry200388

@ry200388 I have been, but since they don’t begin reviewing Ross apps until after you’re generally admitted, and apparently are admitting applicants to Ross on a rolling basis, I think they will start reviewing your app soon.

just got an email saying my Ross BBA Preferred Admission application is being reviewed now. Anyone else get it?

My D just got in to Engineering after being deferred. I suppose that I extend a bit of credit to this board. She is a strong OOS applicant. Though lots of great applicants get deferred, we were a bit surprised by her deferral (no disrespect to any other deferees – she got deferred elsewhere, as well). On a CC discussion, someone informed us of ‘Regional Counselors’ – and how strong OOS applicants might get deferred if the school is not certain that the student is truly interested and has not expressed interest via the 'RC’s. As such, she sent an email to her RC after the new year – and just got an acceptance yesterday. Could be unrelated – but I am thinking that the school might shelve strong applicants until they hear a declared level of interest. Very pleased to get the acceptance. Go Blue !!

Is there a point in applying to LA honors if I applied to Ross?

Lsa honors is nice because of the dough wuad housing lots of business ppl do lsa honors first year then switch to ross @MystaAwesome8

Has Michigan announced/notified the 2017 Shipman Scholarship nominees yet? If not, does anyone know when they will?

thank you @Gearloose , I got a letter said they are reviewing my Ross applicants now

I am confused, I was deferred from the LSA school this December. Should I be expecting a decision in the near future or in April?

As an update, my Daughter had previously been deferred was accepted late last week (just checked her mail today :)) .

For those of you tracking your chances, here credentials are:
ACT 33 comp, not super scored. 4.65W / 3.98 UW, Apprx 75% honors classes. Challenging, competitive high school. 3 AP classes. Elementary Ed major. Out of state, no legacy. 4 year varsity athlete, although not playing a sport in college. Very good volunteer work with special education, good teaching experience leading to major, references were probably very good - very high character, although minimal leadership skills.

Nobody from my high school heard yet but a few people heard from another high school in the same district as mine. Are they sending out decisions by high school or is that just a coincidence?

I am confused, I saw some regular decision applicants received their decisions on Feb. Should I assume it is rolling decision now?

@Zpower99 As some have mentioned, a decent number of deferrals received admissions late last week. There has been speculation that more admissions will come in waves on a semi-rolling basis, although a couple have suggested that most will still receive their decisions next month. Regardless, there is a fair amount of certainty that all will receive an email if their status is updated.

What can I expect at campus days? What was the best part of your visit?

@yodogwood application acceptances are rolling out as UMich sees fit. As we saw last week many went out on Thursday. I would say that you can hear any day, any time between now and April. If you call they will give you the same response…April however we all know here on CC that some have already received fantastic news after being deferred. It’s agonizing but it won’t be long now! Good Luck!

for those of you who got deferred -> accepted: have any of you received your financial package yet?

@STEM2021 walking through law school’s library!

I will be sure to do that! Thank you! @Zpower99

Hi I was accepted and a few weeks ago got an email re:financial aid and to check portal. At that time all that showed for me was student loans. But I have not received anything in the mail. I don’t have a good feeling that I’m getting any aid at all. I am out of state. And no news of scholarships either. And my family cannot pay 59k (I think it’s around that) out of pocket. So we shall see what happens. Thankfully I have a number of back up schools in the mix. @rusty8642

anyone know how to check the application status? i press on application status but it doesnt actually say anything except my application term and program
