UMichigan Ann Arbor EA Class of 2021 Applicants

Are the groups random?

@nasoth idk i know for my in state school, decisions came out at 4

@nasoth I think that they go by order of merit.

I have heard that the batches come alphabetically.

@madman1923 like gpa/act? I have heard that the acceptances come early and the deferrals tend to come late in the day although I’m not sure if that’s true.

@nasoth I think gpa/act and also ec’s. I also heard acceptances come early.

yeah i think acceptances come first for most schools in general.

@Eeeee127 I don’t think they would be able to, but if you only just miss the cut for EA, you’ll probably get in in February anyway

Guys… I’m not ready to see my decision. But at the same time, I can’t wait :frowning:

I’m expecting a deferral honestly…I haven’t even heard back from MSU yet

@whizkid98 do you mind sharing your stats so i can get a general idea of the ppl who were deferred but accepted in february? gpa, test scores, in state or out of state, etc

i hope decisions start coming out this friday!

@nasoth when did you apply to msu? it takes a while sometimes

My sister got deferred from Michigan last year with a 4.2 weighted GPA and a 29 ACT. She was accepted a few weeks later

@amarz12 in state or out of state? @Eeeee127 around thanksgiving, one of my friends got in like 4 days after he applied, but we’ll see he does have higher stats than me but weaker ECs.

@nasoth in state, applied to LSA

@nasoth yeah msu is primarily stats driven i don’t see anywhere on their admissions page that says they use holistic review. i didn’t get my msu decision until one month after i applied (i applied september 9 and receive my decision oct 5, while other applicants applied late september and received their decision on oct 5 also which is 1 week after they applied so it really depends on when you apply before they release a batch of decisions), but i feel you should get a decision before winter break if your stats are in the upper range or above (which I feel most umich applicants stats are) msu released a batch of decisions right before thanksgiving break so you prob applied right after they made decisions but they will likely release another batch this month.

also, it’s more helpful if people provide their unweighted gpa instead of weighted since umich recalculates it anyway

@nasoth I heard back in November and just got schoalrships in the mail. I’m OOS. No honors college but $8k/yr (university scholars i think) + a $3-5k one time scholarship

Although it says the decisions are coming out on 24th, does anyone know if they will release results early? If so, about how early? This Friday?
