@zophie hopefully this friday but dont be surprised if u have to wait until next week cuz the 16th might not be enough time for umich.
Thanks!
Eager to hear…hoping for this Friday, but understand if it cannot be.
I just saw on the reddit page for U of M that someone was accepted into CoE. Does that mean LSA is close?
Wait what lol
@jjjjjj14 1. Could be fake 2. Could be a transfer
Edit: Also, could me Dearborn or Flint
Wait so if you get deferred you could possibly hear back again in February? You don’t have to wait until april? Can someone explain that process to me?
@jjjjjj14 maybe but idk how reliable that reddit post is. I think engineering did come out earlier than lsa in past years but idk if it still does. my friend told me that a person who works for admissions told her yesterday that decisions will start coming out this friday but idk if its true. i hope it is!
I hope so… I am so nervous! Good luck to you!!
Does anyone have stats on average GPA/ACT/SAT for CoE?
@enginero basically if you are deferred they start releasing decisions on a rolling basis for regular action so first batch in february, then march, then april. @captmag it’s probably higher than lsa since its more competitive so maybe 3.9 GPA/33 and idk how to convert to sat sorry
Anybody applied to Kines?
@ryanzhang1999 I applied to Kinesiology!
I am instate with a unweighted 3.93 gpa and a 1250 on the SAT, which according to college board translates to a 28 on the ACT. Do you think I have a shot to get into LSA, even though I did not apply EA? I had good letters of rec, my basketball coach, AP calc and AP psychology teacher, and my superintendent. I volunteer coaching youth basketball and football, as well as umpiring baseball. I also spent time during school and over the summer working with habitat for humanity. I wrote good essays my main one being about my injury my senior year of football. Any input is appreciated! Thank you!
@MVTiger A 1250 on the new SAT actually converts to a 25 on the ACT. The 1250 to 28 conversion is for the old SAT.
Actually after doing more research it equates to a 26. Either way do you have any feedback?
what about a 1450?
@MVTiger Oops, my bad! I don’t really want to give feedback here because it’s not a chance thread, but I can PM you if you’d like!
@Eeeee127 I’ll just copy/paste what I put in my result thread.

Reflection
Strengths: ACT. I studied hard to get a 32, and didn’t study at all and got a 34, some kind of luck. Extreme demonstrated interest: multiple information sessions, 3 campus tours, college fair visits, shadowed a student, attended an application workshop. My school is nationally ranked full IB school, and a feeder school to UMich (over 100 students accepted each year).
Weaknesses: GPA definitely. I had a downward trend since freshman year, received my first B in sophomore year. Junior year was tough, but I was able to end the year with 2 B+'s in the second semester. If they received my first semester grades early this year, I’m not sure how it would’ve turned out…3 B’s for a 3.69 semester GPA. I think the intense rigor of my curriculum and ACT saved me, plus possibly my demonstrated interest. I also had very few awards and not enough volunteering.
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I expected a deferral but was hoping for an eventual acceptance. Apparently I was just on the cusp of being accepted EA, because I was accepted exactly at midnight on Feb. 5. I sent a letter of continued interest when the admissions office reopened on Jan. 4, and was hopeful because I got the “good” deferral letter*.
Where else you are applying or have already applied: Accepted: UMich, MSU, Wayne State University, Case Western Reserve University. Applied: Harvard, Northwestern**, Columbia, Yale, Princeton (obviously no hope for these but I don’t care since I’ve been accepted to UMich)
Naieve statement
* I did eventually get into northwestern in March
If deferred, what steps need to be taken to assist in being accepted first round in RD? Also, could someone explain to me how the “rounds” work (is it a similar system to rolling admission?) I most likely will not be accepted EA, so I want to make sure I handle my situation the correct way to make sure I hear back the fastest. Thanks guys and good luck
