Hey guys, rd here! Keep focus on finals and don’t be too stressed out :))
Is it just because they are waiting for ed to withdraw? Will they accept more ppl after the ed ppl withdraw? R they at least done with in state? They could release those decisions first cuz less than 1/3 of the applicants r in state. They used to do waves and release decisions starting September before they started getting a ton of out of state applicants.
Anyone know why they are working overtime? Is it cuz they received more applications than last year? Also new sat changes might be a problem cuz only 3% in state residents used to take sat but now many in state residents r submitting new sat scores cuz all Michigan schools offered the new sat last year instead of the act.
The apparently got more apps than last year
@amarz12 do u know how many? I think last year was 30,000 Ea apps
Just what my college counselors said
The Twitter post says “unlikely”… Does it mean that it has not been decided and there is still a chance that decisions will be released tomorrow? I guess we’ll wait and see…
It’s official no decisions until next week…per UMICH Office of Admission tweet 4 hours ago today
"Our team has received a number of questions about when we will be releasing decisions for Early Action applicants. We understand your eagerness and thank you for your continued patience!
While we can assure you that Early Action applicants will receive a decision by Dec. 24 note that it is very unlikely that any decisions will be released before next week.
We thank you again, and GO BLUE! #victors2021
Ok remember…all of us have to breathe…
@educationfan lol yeah still hanging on to that tiny piece of hope if they said very unlikely that means theres still a chance right otherwise they would have just tweeted decision will not come out this week instead of very unlikely?
Anyone have any guesses as to when next week? I have finals and a huge Christmas dance so I’m trying to avoid good/bad news right before big events. Also, Christmas Eve sounds like a horrible day to find out!
@jjjjjj14 very likely on Friday the 23rd because umich decisions have always come out on Fridays in the past 4 years
the nice thing about this is that i won’t be refreshing the portal constantly like i have for other schools, since this is all so up in the air lol
I dmed them on Twitter asking if a decision could come out on a day other than Friday and they said yes thats possible.
I think they do come out in waves so that’s good @plsacceptme99
ugh. this is crazy. all schools should just release ea on this friday. this is all so ridiculous
Yeah at least umich releases earlier than UNC chapel hill and uva who get way less applications and dont release until end of Jan
I don’t think they will release on a Friday anymore. I’ve been following this thread from the beginning and we’ve been operating based on the notion that decisions will be coming out by/before the last day of finals. This year for UMich, that happens to be on Thursday the 22nd. Based on that logic, they will probably be coming out any day next week except Friday.
I was thinking exactly what @jt1216 is saying. I think it will be Thursday. I doubt that they would release the decisions so close to Christmas. The adcoms will want to leave work and be with their family as much as we do. They are not going to work when the rest of the University is closed. It has to be Thursday
@UofMichigan1999 yeah I think Thursday should be the latest we hear!
Then why do they always say Dec 24 if they r never gonna release it that late anyway
