@Eeeee127 They always say “by” Dec 24. And why do you think that’s misleading? Seems to me that they are going to be releasing them close to that date.
@jt1216 they could say by Dec 22 I think this year is probably the latest they have ever released them
@Eeeee127 Well technically since they’re still open on Dec 22nd itself and will be able to send them out on that day if they wanted to, they would need to say “by the 23rd.” That is only one day sooner than the current date that they advertise the decisions to be sent out by. So I agree that they could have said they’d be out by the 23rd as opposed to the 24th, but they figured Christmas Eve would be more memorable or something idk.
Either way, they probably feel that the later they tell people to expect them, the less anxious they’ll be for them get released on dates as early as the 16th. We all defied that logic of their’s tho lol.
Last year was the 18th. Monday is the 19th. Hmmm.
@HRSMom umich decision always came out on Friday so last year was 18 and year before was 19 and year before was 20 but this year’s Friday is Dec 23
Literally i think anytime next week. Possibly a couple tomorrow from what i gathered? Since the friday is so late and close to christmas it’s a crapshoot
All I know is this is creating a great deal of stress during finals. My daughter has been been accepted into her 2nd & 3rd choice schools (just this week) but unable to relish any of the success as her first, dream choice lingers. Hard to watch and hoping for the best.
Yeah hopefully they release a couple tomorrow since they have probably already made decisions for most applicants
if anything is released tomorrow it will probably just be a few acceptances since those are usually released first from what I can gather from last years thread
@littlelib2 Congrats to your daughter for the acceptance to her 2nd and 3rd choice schools! What major she will studying? Best luck to her dream school!
I know its an impossible feat but I do wish they did interviews with all ea applicants. It is hard to convey the dedication and aspirations in such a small window of their essay requirements.
My daughter geared her entire HS program to U of M standards of rigor, community involvement and extra curricular activities. It was a mutual feeling of powerlessness to submit the application and realize all those years of hard work for one goal and now it was completely out of her hands.
When I say its her dream school, it’s no understatement. Ann Arbor is where she wants to be.
Biomedical engineering: she really wants to be involved in research developing the field of organ transplant & 3D printing.
@littlelib2 is your daughter in state? They do interviews for engineering but there are just too many LSA applicants to do interviews. Umich is just too big of a public school. What were your daughter’s two other choices?
@littlelib2 Based on what you said, if I were an admission officer, I will definitely take her, again, best of luck!
She applied to LSA with the intent to transfer to the engineering school. She is OOS (the kicker is we are Michigan natives with a lot of legacy). She got into Pitt & University of Wisconsin (both honors program) which have strong biomed programs. Also got into Penn State honors program.
She has lots of options but U of M is home. Just the way it is.
@littlelib2 her passion for umich will definitely help her because umich wants to accept ppl who will actually go and show a lot of interest. I know it’s frustrating for all of us because our decisions have prob already been made but they just won’t release them!! Also why did your daughter apply to lsa instead of directly to engineering?
When did you find out about Wisconsin? I didn’t think that they released EA yet.
How are international students supposed to show passion and interest other than writing a good essay? I mean, I can’t really visit the college and shadow students and what not…
do they send an email like the day before? or only when the decision is actually ready? and does anyone know what time its up eastern time
They send an email with your decision in it it comes out like around 3-4 EST
