There is no official set time so they could come at any time on any day before Dec 24.
do you log onto your portal or is it just in the email? gotta mentally prepare for this
Just in email
UMich admissions posted on instagram today that it is unlikely that results will be released before next week (Dec. 18-24)
I AM IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTION
Unlikely but still a small chance some will be released tomorrow right???
Why did they say highly unlikely they could have just said decisions will not be released this week
It’s probably a small chance, but saying “highly unlikely” sounds like they’re just trying to be polite to me. It’s just a qualifier
Sorry, placed the University of Wisconsin in the accepted: not yet their release is in January. We were fortunate enough to get an informal intro/interview through a mutual friend. Based on her data, essay and interview we were told acceptance was a formality.
Amazing place but wish it were a bit more geographically accessible.
They could have simply said decisions will be released sometime next week instead of highly unlikely
@littlelib2 When did your daughter hear from Wisco? I thought EA wasn’t released yet, especially for OOS
GPA 3.85 UW, 7 AP so far. 5 AP senior year. ACT 34, SAT 2300, any chance? State science fair award. Writing awards from scholarstic.National merit commended.
@mimimo7890 completely agree with you! it’s super frustrating seeing all my friends get into their ED choices while I am still waiting. I’m not even expecting an acceptance, I just want to know SOMETHING.
@Eeeee127 Yes they could’ve, but saying “highly unlikely” is a qualifier (defined via Google search “modifies adjectives or other adverbs and typically expresses degree or intensity, as very, somewhat, or quite”). They probably just wanted to be polite. I don’t think they put much thought into word choice because they didn’t expect slight changes in phrasing would rile up students like this.
It might happen, but probably not. Hopefully it will though!!
I know waiting is hard so I don’t know if this info helps anyone but last year my daughter was deferred on Dec. 18th and it was on the portal before she got the email. She was later accepted on Feb. 5th and it was very early like 6 am and again it was on the portal and the email came a few hours later. She was OOS and a double legacy. 3.8 GPA 2030 SAT.
@Poeny2015 this isn’t a chance thread. You should start a thread or comment on a chance thread if you want chancing.
I get that you’re frustrated like all of us, but we aren’t experts. I think yout app looks good though, especially if you’re IS. If you showed passion in your essays an got good recs, that should put you over the top.
jajajalol, I am out state.
Maybe they are trying to surprise us by saying highly unlikely but actually releasing tomorrow! (This is my hope tho lol)
@Poeny2015 I think you should be golden, given you showed interest/passion. LSA?
side note: looking at my replies from today and my English is horrendous…lol
i sent my SAT subject test scores to Mich prior to knowing how I did on them, and I ended up not doing well. If the rest of my application is very strong, how much would the bad scores affect me even if SAT subject tests are completely optional?
