I wanted to know if anyone had received a Stamp Scholarship from UMich from a STEM field. Was it helpful in getting interships in tech companies for example or getting more access to teachers for research opportunities or additional time with professors etc. U Mich is a large school, I wondered how it compare to Brown or even Columbia for that matter in CS. Finally how it compare to Regents UCB or other UCs not in terms of finances but in terms of access to a better experience in Education. I know Stamp has its own community network. Does it also help with the regular problems that kids face in large schools … access to teachers, research opportunities and high quality internships?
In most rankings published online (US News, Business Insider…) UMich places in the top 10 in the nation in computer science/engineering. And too, most often they place above or equal to Brown or Columbia or UCB. Further, here is info on Umich coop programs it does for job experience/placement (the program is pretty well known) http://career.engin.umich.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/30/2014/12/annualreport.pdf
Thank you IBBer. Did you attend Mich or know of a Stamp Scholar from UMich. I would love to hear from a Stem Stamp Scholar from UMich if there is one around on CC and happens to see this post!!. My STEMMER might call U Mich directly. Loved the visit to Ann Arbor and the Stamps community were very nice people. Liked it more than the UCB environment, even though that has perhaps a bigger name. I wanted to better understand the communication between the Stamps Scholarship community and the UMich experience in terms of research, advising etc.
