How many usually apply?

Do students that live on the Kansas side of Kansas city get any type of instate tuition rates?

usually 500 + apply. I think half will come back for interview.

if this is a 6 yr program, then it's not really class of 2011 is it. more like 2013

yah, I was thinking the same thing badg.

if u live on the kansas side u get instate tuition in certain areas

ugh too bad Topeka isn't close enough! why couldn't Missouri be all of Kansas ANND Missouri. I would be soooo happy :)

and TEXAS! no? darn

haha yes! and Texas!

1 piece of advice: Don't measure your odds by "when" you get your interview or when other people hear about it--it doesn't help ANY. I had my interview in the first week of February, and I found out about my acceptance by phone during my spring break--probably April 1st or so. They do allow you to call in after a certain time, before the mail has reached you. I actually wasn't that anxious, I just wanted to know.
Some of my friends had their interviews in December or so, but that's because they turned their apps in early (that's my guess).
Any St. Louis kids here?
When you get here, ...the older years are actually really helpful. so always ask if you need it. And for now if you have any q's I might be able to help. Don't sweat the small stuff--especially not standardized scores. I know an in-state who got a 25 on her ACT's; out-of-staters can have about a 27 or 28--I'm not saying you can't be lower, because if you make it to the interview, they don't care whether you are a 36 or 26.
hope this helps- good luck, don't sweat it, and this really is a different program. you won't be like ANY of your friends at other universities--but it'll be worth it. enjoy the time you have left!!

can you tell usa bout your experiences int he prog? the good, bad, and the ugly?

mst, I'm from St. Louis! Do you know if they give any preference to certain schools (private/public) like MICDS/Visitation/John Burroughs/Villa Duchesne/Parkway District, etc...
I've already turned in my app, but is there anything we can do now to give us an edge to be called for the interview?
also, if you have a relatively low ACT (29) do you need something really stellar on your app to compensate for that to be called for the interview?
Thanks!

oh this is so gay, i got a 28 on the act, :( it went down.

don't worry tiedye, you still have another chance on the next ACT in Dec... :)

don't worry tiedye, you still have another chance in Dec... that's the one I'm banking on too... :)

Hey everyone....is the psychology department at UMKC any good???

im not taking it again in dec. because umkc does look at any test after the oct. one. i know someone who went there though and is now a neurosurgon and is friends with the director of the med program and the dean so he's going to write a letter for me. i hope that helps.

they dont accept scores from the december ACT?

thats what my high school said. i was told that anything after the oct test would only count toward scholarships and do nothing for admissions

I'm going to call umkc tommorrow...
