UMKC 6 year BA/MD - class of 2011

sup guys, I'll be applying to the program from out of state (Cali).

Taking ACT in October.

If I have a 32 ACTshould I try hard to bump it up to a 33-34 or should I focus more on ECs?

no need to bump your score for this program. for other one like northwester or brown, yes you should.

i'm a year 1.
the in state average is generally lower than the out of state ACT average.

also, wouldn't you be the incoming class of 2013?

mst54c, do you like UMKC? If so, what specifically do you really like about the program so far?

mst54c, do u know how much lower the in state vs. out of state ACT average is for people who get accepted? thnx!

From the old thread it looks like in state ACT scores are 3-4 points lower than out of state, but out of state acceptance is a lot more competitive...

i think the interview part is what is most important.

i think my only concern for this program is the future residency. i hope that after the six years, i will be able to return to LA and do my residency there.

im from missouri. spartan, i wish i had a 32! u are pretty much already accepted with a score like that. with that score u can go to mizzou which has a better preadmission program. i wanted to apply up you have to have a 30+. mizzou is also cheaper. what part of missouri are u from?

st louis/ st charles area, where are you from?

hey I'm from that area too! what school do u go to?

can anyone answer my previous post?

what was the question?

i'm from west plains.

it is regarding the residency options for UMKC. Do people from UMKC get into good residencies like at UCLA or UCSF

I hear there are good residencies for internal medicine and more general fields

Is Connley Honors Program at Mizzou better academically? And is it guaranteed acceptance?

yah it is guaranteed. and definately mizzou is a way better school academically than umkc. they are ranked 16 in primary care. too bad i cant apply there because im out of state.

umkc is a lot easier to get into but mizzou is better. the lenght spent is about the same with both. you start classes for med school in year one and you dont have to take the mcat so thats always good. if i get a 30 im going to apply there because it is such a better school, plus if you are into sports the tigers rank a lot higher than the kangaroos.
