UMKC 6-year BS/MD Program

basically i meant that people are telling me that if you got multiple interviews, ur guaranteed to end up somewhere, whereas if you just get like 2-3, ur on the benchmark? I am not sure if that is true?

like basically is there still going to be a chance even though i only got 2 actual med school interviews, and 3 undergrad interviews for med school [didn’t make it to second round]?

if you ask about how you’re chances are one more time, all hell will break loose. no one knows shi* about your chances, only the adcom.

The only accelerate I applied to was umkc and I got in

Wow lucky!

It’s not luck at all, you’ve worked your whole life to put yourself in this position. It’s just time to execute. If you’ve done things right then you’ll be fine.

That’s very true… Thank you for your advice

what should we wear for the first day? I’m only formal on day two.
Should i go formal on day one also?

save your official dress for tomorrow. Tonight is just a dinner and registration.

Tuesday and Wednesday’s interviews got cancelled!! Just found out via email.

wow really? are they rescheduling?

Kind of disappointed with UMKC. People with very low ACT scores, a bunch of B’s and C’s, low class rank and low GPA have interviews at UMKC. I would expect some standard for interview like the rest of the BA/MD programs :frowning:

@fallpsat, are you referring to students who got selected for interview, or students in the program?

o wait i read ur post slowly lol…you referred to students with interview lol. didn’t see that :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: and I understand, that’s what I heard from lot of ppl…

Yeah I’m instate and I feel like they give an interview to any who has applied to the program instate. I don’t know anyone who has been denied an interview from Missouri.

Who is out of state (not regional) on this forum? And if u are can u please post stats?

the stats during orientation showed that people with 3.2 gpa or 23 on act were accepted. I was kind of surprised. But hey. the admissions people know what they are doing so I don’t doubt them.

The school of medicine is just amazing with all of the facilities they have. I’m pretty positive anyone who was given an interview could potentially achieve success at the institution. But unfortunately, only 109 spots.

I’m a year one in the program now. The 23 on the act is most likely 1 student, same with the 3.2. The university takes into consideration factors that could have affected performance like divorce, death, illness etc. Don’t judge someone by their act score either, it’s not at all a measure of intelligence. And a 3.2 at a prestigious parochial school is probably more difficult to attain than a 3.8 at most public school. Most people here have 30 on their act or above and most are sitting on 3.8 unweighted gpa or above with all AP and IB courses. We have like 25 valedictorians in are class. So if you judge all of us by the lowest act and gpa you aren’t getting the full picture. But maybe the program isn’t for you, that’s for you to decide. Hope that helps.

:frowning: I really hope we all get it
