I just received an email from UMKC school of medicine confirming a completed application. It says the Council will make decisions regarding interviews (yes, interview or wait listed for interview or denied interview by the med school) by the end of January.
I got that too today.
it just means that your application is complete and will be sent to the committee. they will send notifications starting from dec before the break
I got the application complete e-mail today also!
Well, son received an email from UMKC informing him that the decision for interview will now been made available before December 20, instead of before December 15, as it was originally planned.

@huskerstk, my son was rather surprise. He thought it was an invite for the interview but it turned out to be just an email informing a delay in the decision making.

I’m getting pretty nervous about… I guess the only thing to do is wait.
The same thing just happened to me last night. Lol. I was like super exciting when I first saw my email because why else would UMKC be sending me an email this late in December unless its the decision? I don’t know they don’t just let us know now considering they have probably already made the decisions.
did you do hospital shadowing or doctor shadowing? How’d you get 125 hours?
i got the same email - new date for notification 12/20.

I did not and I also did not receive this email (i think people who applied after get notified by january then?)
I am a regional candidate. My understanding of better chance of getting in:
- In-State
- Regional
- out of state
Is that everyone’s impression?
@Greensage, yes - I applied by October 15th deadline. When I went to UMKC open house, they had indicated that applicants applying by 10/15 get notified by mid December. Applicants applying by Nov. 1st get notified in January. The interview date is same for everyone.

@docstudent, thanks! And yeah I was thinking the same thing about chances (in state, regional, out of state).
The interview notifications will be coming out any day next week… Now I’m starting to get anxious. I want to get in to this school sooooo bad. It all starts with the interviews though. I think they interview like 30% of the out of state applicants.
