UMKC 6-year BS/MD Program

I also got waitlisted but am a regional candidate. What are my chances?

@sajju786 congrats, you are physically OOS, but from UMKC perspective it is a regional (IL, AR, KS, NB, OK) candidate and generally they invite ~100 candidates total from regional states and ~30 get in, so ~30% acceptance rate at this point. For rest of OOS candidates acceptance rate drops drastically, think it is ~15%.

oh ok @PPofEngrDr …thanks for info…

UMKC Correction on my part.
Once UMKC schedules interview, the acceptance rate is ~33% across the board. the difference is in Quota allocation for each bucket.
Accordingly, simple breakdown is like,
Acceptance rate: Instate ~33%, Regional ~33%, OOS ~33%
Quota: Instate ~55%, Regional ~30%, OOS ~15%.
Total invites are ~350 and final class size is ~115 (~33% of 350)
Based on quota allocation, invites should be break down to Instate ~200, Regional ~100, OOS ~50 (~350).
Based on acceptance rate, it will translate actual selection as Instate ~60, regional ~35, OOS ~15 (~115).

Hey @TheRealGuy7 I just wanted to know what happened if you don’t mind sharing. I’m currently a college freshman too, trying to transfer, and if you could please just shed some light on your story that would be extremely helpful. If you could DM me or something that would be great too.

All invited for interview must have chosen the interview date. If interviewing on 2/11, I would love to meet any parent from this board. Anyone ?

@BballFan1 Are you in Instate/Regional or OOS ? We are doing it on 2/11.

@whitecane We are in-state.

Hi Everyone! Congrats to everyone who is interviewing. The program has kept me busy so I haven’t been on here in a while but I’m looking forward to meeting some of you who will be interviewing at UMKC!!! If you have any questions about the interviews or the program, you can DM me directly. I’ll try my best to help out.

@whitecane …congrats…we are interviewing Feb12th…

Has anyone gotten called off the waitlist yet?

@UMKCPanda
Would you know something about transfer students and the applicants who get in?

@Nshah1026 I could be wrong but I wasn’t aware that you could transfer into the program? I think there is an option to reapply as a college freshman if you are unsuccessful this year. Maybe @Roentgen or one of the others in this thread could chime in.

@NShah1026 @UMKCPanda,

I believe the only “transfer” (if you call it that) would be students who complete a year of undergraduate study somewhere else and then apply to the 6 year program at UMKC. We don’t really have publicly available stats just for that group cohort alone just bc it’s a much smaller group to begin with.

Hey guys, just wanted to re-up my previous post for those who wanted to prepare for the MMI (Multiple Mini-Interview) format interviews that the UMKC BA/MD program does now. To those who wanted to prepare in advance for the UMKC BA/MD interview day, here were my prior posts in the thread in the 2016-2017 application cycle:

I have a question for umkc bamd…can anyone please respond…so after the interview will the committee review the entire application like gpa/test scores to decide if the applicant is good enough to give acceptance or just based on the interview they will decide who gets in?
