Hello, I was wondering how hard it is to get into the UMN for PSEO? I have a 3.85 GPA, Took 2 AP tests and got a 5 on one and a 3 on the other. I’m currently a Sophmore so I’m wondering how difficult it is to enter the PSEO at the U?
No idea how difficult in terms of a probability but it’s the most difficult to get into. Also, it’s probably going to go at a faster pace than some at the local cc. Make sure whichever PSEO program you do that you are prepared to give it top priority. Those grades are a permanent part of your transcript and while colleges will make some allowance for the level of difficulty, poor PSEO grades can only hurt your college admission chances.
My daughter is in her second year of PSEO at the U. When she was admitted (for her junior year), she had a 3.97 GPA (she had one A- in Spanish, otherwise all straight-A’s). She also took straight honors and was ranked 3rd in her class (of about 150). She also completed three years of math during the first two years of high school. During PSEO orientation, she was told that it was the most competitive year yet and that everyone that got in had straight A’s and heavy honors/advanced classes. You should definitely apply, but also apply to other PSEO programs.
I am doing PSEO at the U currently, and I have a friend that got accepted with a 3.80 GPA, and took 4 AP classes so I think you have a chance!
