UMN TC Scholarships Appeal

Hi everyone, I have been accepted to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and received the 10k per year Global Excellence Scholarship. This still makes the university expensive to attend. Is there anyone, US citizen or international, who appealed and got more aid successfully?

International students studying on an F-1 visa in the U.S. do not qualify for U.S. or Minnesota state financial aid programs. The University of Minnesota does not offer a full tuition waiver or scholarship and the University assumes that international students will take full responsibility for financing their education.

This is a public university, funded by Minnesota’s residents taxes. It’s not a private university so it is not going to have access to large private monies. The website is very clear that it cannot fully fund international students.
