My ACT score is:
Comp (34)
English (33)
Math (35)
Reading (33)
Science (36)

My SAT I score is:
Comp (2150)
CR (680)
Math (720)
Writing (750)

My SAT II scores are:
Chem (790)
Bio (760)
Math II (750)

If I were to submit ALL of these scores to Ivy League, Stanford, and Rice, which scores would they look at for admission? Obviously my ACT is comparably higher than my SAT (equates to around a 2300). So would colleges look at only my highest score (the ACT) or would they look down on my 2150?

Also, if colleges did only look at the ACT, would they completely ignore my SAT II subject test scores? I feel like I screwed myself over my sending both my SAT and ACT to a few of these schools already...and I keep getting mixed reviews and all the emails from the colleges just say to check their site (which doesn't have an answer)...PLEASE HELP!!

The answer is different among the colleges:

Stanford will choose which it believes is higher, the ACT or SAT, and use it for admission and also consider all three SAT II scores (Stanford does not require SAT IIs but recommends two and will consider any sent).

Harvard and Princeton: the same as Stanford except they do require two SAT IIs, but will consider all SAT IIs sent.

Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth: like above will choose which score is better for you, ACT or SAT, and then also consider your two highest SAT II scores (they require two and if you submit more, they consider the two highest).

Yale, Brown, Penn and Rice: these are among the colleges that accept ACT in lieu of both the SAT and SAT IIs; thus if you submit ACT, you do not have to submit any SAT IIs; if you submit SAT and want to rely on it you must submit two SAT IIs. As far as consideration for admission: (a) if you submit the SAT and the three SAT IIs they will consider the two highest SAT IIs with the SAT; (b) if you submit the ACT and the three SAT IIs, and do not submit the SAT, they will consider the ACT for admission and not the SAT IIs (although I would still send good SAT II scores because you never know if some reviewer will think about them in making his admission recommendation); (c) if you submit the SAT, SAT IIs and the ACT for admission, they will determine which set they believe is better for you, the SAT plus the highest two SAT IIs or, alternatively, the ACT alone, and use the set chosen to determine admission.

^ My god!!! Thank you so much!!! I’ve honestly been asking around about this for ages. Even the colleges themselves just directed me to their FAQ page, which didn’t contain any answers I wanted.

That’s a huge relief that colleges use the best possible score/combination of scores for you admission. I suck at the SAT test and didn’t want that to hurt me. Thank you sooooo much again!
