UNC 2018 Transfer Student Thread

2-5 PM tomorrow? Don’t know how I’m going to sit through my afternoon classes. Oh well. I’ll be a little late to the party, but I’ll definitely post my decision+stats tomorrow, for the sake of future applicants. God knows I dug through these kinds of threads to compare stats and acceptances lol.

Good luck to all of you! Go Tar Heels!

Did anyone submit mid year reports? / were we required to / recommended to do so? So glad this came back into my memory today of all days

I didn’t. We weren’t required/recommended to do so. @DECA4life

I’m working 9-5 today, it’s a nice distraction, but I’m so worried. Not ready to take the L from UNC

someone please keep us updated all day when decisions have been released!!

In the past have they just straight rejected or accepted people? Or is there a waitlist / wait till end of year grades are in option?

There is a waitlist if you aren’t accepted or rejected, but I’m not sure how long it is until the final decision. Typically, only a small amount from that waitlist end up being admitted. @DECA4life

Well isn’t that just splendid!

I was waitlisted last year, it’s an awful experience, you have to wait until after the deadline for transfer students to enroll or not and usually around 8 people might get off the waitlist. I believe it was between may-June.

So dang anxious… Good luck everyone!

We got this people!!

I just wanted to provide some words of encouragement before these decisions come out. If any of you get rejected, just remember that it’s not the end of the world or a sign that you aren’t good enough or a bad omen for your future. Sometimes, you just get unlucky with the admissions committee or you just didn’t have the background/stats that they were looking for that particular year. It will be tough to recover from a rejection, but you will survive and thrive if you pick yourself back up, work hard wherever you may end up, and try again in the future. You are all already so accomplished for having gone through this entire application process and worked hard at whatever school you may be at. Good luck to everyone here and I hope none of us get rejected. But, if any of us do, just know that this is just a bump in the road and we will make it through. Life can be very long and we will find a way to succeed, whether that be at UNC or somewhere else. Thank you all for your help during this process, too

Hopefully just a few more hours to wait… Trying to focus on other things! There’s no use in getting upset prematurely, but I also don’t want to get my hopes set too high. Good luck everyone! I hope we all get to go to UNC in the fall!

Could this all really go down in like 30 minutes??? I can’t handle this!!!

Nothing yet…

My guess is it’ll be closer to 5. That way people have the weekend to figure things out before everyone starts calling at once.

I personally don’t expect them to come until 3/3:45 pm.
