For freshman undergraduate business major where should I pick????
Is it a bad idea to go to state school (Ga Tech) then transfer to UNC jr year? How is Williams school of commerce at Washington& Lee stack up to the other two larger public universities? At GA Tech you start into business as freshman, UNC jr year. Don't know what to do! Have to know by May !!

UNC is probably the best business school on your list. Top students at all of these schools do very well, and the caliber of student will be similar (although UNC obviously selects students who have already proved successful for two years).

Tech sends top students to Wall Street, Bain, McKinsey, and Deloitte. The next tier gets hired by SunTrust, Siemens, GE, the Big4, local consulting firms, etc… W&L also has respectable graduate placement, particularly for top students on wall street, and has a more scholarly program than either UNC or Tech.

If money is of any concern, Tech with the HOPE scholarship and any other scholarships you may have is undoubtedly your best value. I wouldn’t choose W&L over UNC or Tech unless you really fell in love with the school. If more is of no concern, UNC probably offers the most options and has the strongest on-campus recruiting.

If you do well, network early and often, and get some good internships under your belt, any of these schools can lead you to any business career. UNC would make it a bit easier, but wouldn’t be worth a ton of debt, and if your not interested in investment banking or consulting, choose your cheapest option. If you want to pursue operations or IT management, Tech is the strongest program.
