I’m from one of the smallest counties in North Carolina and have an SAT score of 2150, a Math 2 score of 720, and a Physics score of 730. But I think my chances are slim because my schooling is nontraditional and I don’t have all of the required credits.
@AlexHarper Deal. Let’s call it “From Honor Roll to Nowhere: The Story of the Downward Spiral that is my Life.” All proceeds go to finding us real jobs.
@mdnate Davidson, Wake Forest, some other small LACs that I cannot afford…sigh.
I’m OOS so does that make it a crapshoot then or what? My stats are good but Idk what they consider when looking at OOS.
Real talk though, you guys are all so funny and sassy, and it would be so cool to be friends at the same school next year. Also, @kennie2015, I understand. It’s so much anxiety and pressure to deal with at a young age. Best of luck to you. You sound like an outstanding student!
@collagepls I think UNC has succeeded in having the most vague admissions office in the world. I mean seriously, no one knows what they are looking for in applicants in general, when they will release decisions, or what it takes to get into their honors programs. It’s crazy!
I made two batches of cookie brownies… one for a dinner party I’m supposed to attend this week and another to eat my feelings with if I don’t get in…
gosh they sent the instruction email without having the decisions up. I’m dying right now…
My state school is University of Maryland and their engineering program is highly competitive.
I say that if we get in and go, we stage a meet-up, because all of you seem just as crazy as me!
@kennie2015 I cannot believe you got rejected from Maryland. Did they put you into a different program? My son got into the scholars in political science at Maryland. He is not going there though. Chapel Hill is his first choice. Good luck to you! I am sure you will get in!!!
Although I normally don’t agree to meet strangers from the internet, I like the idea of a meet up! I hope decisions go our way tomorrow!
so is it definitely coming out tomorrow?
People on Twitter are saying 3 more days. Do you all think it’s 3 more days or tomorrow?
@kennie2015 So is mine! I had a couple friends get in, quite a few more not get in, and two of us got admitted for the spring semester. I hate that they have a spring semester…just let me in for fall!
Wait if its not tomorrow i’ll be upset I’ve been conditioning myself for tomorrow based on all these posts haha.
@kennie2015 I’m sorry to hear you didn’t get into UMD. I was accepted to Smith School of Business yesterday, I’m also in state.
Well, I can’t say all hope was lost. I got a scholarship to Loyola MD. I just wanted to have my state school as an option.
I only applied to two OOS schools and UNC is my 1st choice. Where is everybody from?
been following this post since inception and finally making my first post! just wanted to say good luck to everyone! and in response to the last poster- i am from SF, California. Long way from home for me
I’m from Maryland. My story is pretty interesting, if you’ll hear it.
By January 1, I ha applied to Maryland, Texas, Brown, Penn, Vanderbilt, Bucknell, UNC, and UVA. At this point I was going I boarding school in Pennsylvania. On January 7, I was kicked out of boarding school for drug related stuff. (I can elaborate on this if you want).
So, now I’m not sure what all my schools will think of me as a candidate. I still have very strong academics and stuff, but expulsion is a big deal. So, I applied to a bunch more schools. Rhodes, Villanova, UC Boulder, Holy Cross, UVM, and more.
UNC is kind of my last grab at a great school. I have confidence that they won’t rescind my offer if I get in and tell them about getting kicked out, but the other super elite places I applied to will have to factor my expulsion into their initial decision. I’m really scared for tomorrow.
