UNC class of 2019 EA thread

Most scholarships do not require any extra applications. PID is a number that you can find if you click on " pay bill" located by finances. I think you look at " my profile." The ferpa icon is on the top right side- a little window with a window shade. If you click on it you will see information that is permitted to be released ie name, phone etc. It’s called " releasable ferpa information" or something like that. Above the ferpa icon you will see the word " home." If you click on that it takes you to another page where you can update personal information etc. I have zero clue as to the significance or lack of significance of any of these items. I think everybody is assigned a PID. Time will tell I guess.

Yeah I have the PID as well. UNC looks at midyear grades for EA right? I just realized my school doesn’t finish 1rst semester until Jan 20th–so are they considering that or…?

Yeah mine doesn’t finish 1st semester until Jan 25 so looks like we’re SOL.

But then again, I thought most EA schools didn’t consider midyear?

Not sure - anyone know?

I’m pretty sure UNC does not consider mid year reports for EA. Mid year reports typically come out at the end of January and that’s when they release decisions. I mean if you mid year was at the end of December maybe they’d consider but most schools don’t send them out early enough.

Hi guys, I’ve been reading through this forum and I was wondering if someone could please chance me for UNC?

I’d really appreciate it as UNC is my top choice and I’m really nervous. Thanks!

@ineversleep That sounds more logical than what I was thinking…thank you for your reply!

Oh wait this is a dumb question, but has the applicant pool for EA gone up in the past years/should we expect a later response like someone mentioned a couple of posts ago?

I think the latest response you can get is end of January anyways so nothing exceeding that I would imagine

Last year’s EA decisions were delayed a week, I believe, by snow storms in January. Despite the 17,000 or so EA applications the admissions staff need to process, they can’t really afford to delay EA decisions because they will have another stack of 16-17,000 regular decision applications to process by March. I would guess that January 23 would be the decision date.

The days are getting longer and longer as the decision date approaches

Are decisions released all at the same time or in batches??

@benzy50 seriously though…it’s going to get even longer when we get near the end of the month.
And thank you @wstrav and @collagepls for answering my question!
Also, @IVCUSA11 I know for sure that physical packets come at different times judging by last year’s thread. As for online decisions, I’m not sure…I’m hoping at the same time. Does anyone know?

It feels crazy to actually be posting about decision dates after all this time doing chances and finding out how to best position yourself to get in…

Can someone please chance me? UNCCH is my top choice!

I know it can be stressful as the decision day is approaching…but being chanced two weeks before the decision is slightly pointless. It is out of your hands! Just relax

Most public universities seem to put great emphasis on both GPA and Standarized test

Being chanced at any time is pointless. Nobody knows.

I particularly love those who offer to chance back. If you don’t know your own chance, why would you know mine?

Can we not make this a chances thread? There are other places for that
