^agreed. A lot of this stuff has been visible on the portal for quite a while. ConnectCarolina recently fixed a problem with different displays showing up on different browsers, which is why the format or display may seem new to some of you.
Looking back, most decisions have been released the weekend before the last week of January, sooooo fingers crossed for the 23rd!
Hey guys, so heres a situation. I don’t expect acceptance as I am aware of the OOS acceptance rate, however I believe my parents do. If I don’t get accepted, how could I explain this to my parents to get the most accepting reaction from them? (Btw just assume they are not the most reasonable people lol.) Thanks!
@IVCUSA11 Non-acceptance to a college does not imply any fault in you. Take a look at the Harvard, Princeton, Yale threads–students with perfect records and scores and incredible extracurricular activities are often deferred or denied. Who knows why? If UNC accepts you, that’s great. If not, move on to your next choice. Hopefully, your parents will be mature enough to understand.
According to last year’s thread, they send an email with instructions on how to view decisions two days before the actual day. And then I think they send you an email to check your status on connect Carolina. But the email doesn’t say whether you were accepted or not it just says check Carolina.
@Midwestprep5, let’s put it this way: No one has said that they are seeing a portal without any of the mentioned features. Most of the “changes” have been there for a while, but there have been issues with the portal displaying properly in some browsers. For instance, Chrome had problems for several weeks, but that seems to be fixed now. All in all, I think it’s fairly safe to say that none of the features appearing on the web portal are really an indication of any decisions which may not even have been made yet. A week and a half to two and half weeks at most, and we’ll know for sure! Best of luck everyone!
