I haven’t gotten the acceptance letter but I did get a Carolina Computing Initiative postcard thing today…
I have not gotten a paper acceptance, I was accepted into Honors Carolina a week or so ago
Thank you for your response, @Knndygm .
Grrrrr…they’re really dragging their feet over there. Oh well. We should just be happy for all of the acceptances. And best of luck to you and your siblings @Knndygm in the Merit Department. We are all rooting for you!
I am glad to hear that nobody has gotten an general acceptance letter in the mail yet! I was starting to worry they had changed their minds. I hope we will get something soon!
its weird because on the unc admissions twitter they said that they were sending out the last round of acceptance packets this week, which means they already sent out majority of them… but it seems like no one has actually gotten them yet
I received my Honors Carolina paper acceptance in the mail today, but still no sign of the general acceptance
Hi guys! I was accepted into UNC as well, but so far have received no word on Honors Carolina. Do you have to receive it via email and mail, or is it one or the other?
I emailed Admissions about Honors invites a few weeks ago and here is the reply:
Invitations for Honors Carolina are extended based upon students’ receipt of the Excel@Carolina survey, which is a survey that asks selected students to preference opportunities such as Honors Carolina from a list of 12 special opportunities. The Excel survey was sent out the first week of February.
If a student is interested in one of the Excel opportunities, such as Honors Carolina, and did not receive the Excel survey, a student may ask Honors directly if they would re-review the student. The student should e-mail Honors at honorscarolina@unc.edu.
My daughter rec’d her admissions packet in the mail today. We live in NC.
My twins got the honors college letter package in the mail earlier this week and the bigger admission package in the mail today. We live in CLT.
Has anyone else still not received their acceptance packet in the mail, because I haven’t…
@Drogba1464 it seems like they were just sent out sometime in the past few days. People instate and on the east coast have been receiving them. It’ll probably arrive in the next few business days for everyone.
I still haven’t received an acceptance packet, but I got a handwritten note saying something about how they enjoyed my application and that I would thrive at UNC… did anyone else also get this?
For anyone who is still confused, I think this is sequence that the “in the mail stuff” has arrived (at least in my experience)
1st - Merit or Invitations
2nd - Honors Carolina
3rd - Acceptance Packet
A few weeks ago I got an invitation for the Carolina Science Scholars in the mail, then that was followed by an acceptance for Honors Carolina, and then a few days ago I received my Acceptance Packet. (Note this is all through the MAIL; I’ve already received all this info through email prior)
My D got her paper acceptance letter and packet in the mail on 2/19. We are in NC. No financial aid award yet, but a letter telling us the deadline for turning in the FAFSA and CSS Profile is 3/1. Aid awards should be sent out the middle of March.
I live in NC and still haven’t received an acceptance letter in the mail… Anyone else in the same boat? I’m getting kind of nervous! The triangle was hit with an ice storm at the beginning of the week, so that may have impacted it.
My friend works in the post office typically if you live in North Carolina it would take 2-3 days so if you mailed it out Friday possibly Tuesday possibly Wednesday. For anybody out of state typically extra one to two days and west coast 1 or 2 more.
Good thing I’m a transfer student because our deadline for the application was just the 15th. Gotta to turn in my final paperwork tomorrow.
I have been in contact with a PhD student there supposably my chances are very solid to getting in.
I am a junior transferring with a 3.53 GPA.
Is anybody at transfer student that has gotten in?
What do you think of my chances?
Cummualtively 2.41 but I have a upward trend for my last 47 credit hours 3.53 gpa in science courses.
In the past 2 years I have:
-3× deans lists
-Honor society/phi theta kappa
- +300hrs of supplemental instruction anatomy & physiology
- 2 letters of recommendation PhD professor and my Supp. Instructor supervisor.
-Both essays very well written and unique.
@annharv1 also in North Carolina and have not yet received the packet.
