UNC Class of 2021 EA

@wstrav do you by chance know about what time they have been released in past years?

Based on last year thread, it should be around 4:30 pm Eastern Time

@skyflower17 Yes! I looks like Wednesday or Thursday.

In 2015 an email was sent on January 27th at 6:20 pm explaining how to view decisions. Decisions were released on the 28th around 4:30-5:00.

I was accepted last year and I can confirm that what twogirls said has been a consistent trend. For the past several years, the decisions have come out around 4:30 the day after the email is sent out.

Is anybody else super nervous? This is my dream school but I’m OOS…

I’m nervous as well

@yagirlki I’m super nervous and oos too! Best of luck! If I can get it to work out financially and I get in, I’m going to UNC, because I love love love it. If not, I’m going to Ohio State, because I’m from Ohio.

I am too, didn’t get an email about Excel Carolina so I am hoping I atleast get in this week.

I’m optimistic about my chances (in-state) but slightly nervous as well.
Can never be too sure of things…

One of my friends who allegedly has some loose ties to UNC admissions told me that Excel emails went out to everybody whose opportunities required information for their selection criteria. I don’t know exactly which these are, but from the email I got and the opportunities I chose as well as some of my friends, I know Honors, Assure Admission to Pharmacy and Business, one of the research ones I can’t remember all sent out emails.

However I’m hearing that a lot of people didn’t get the email which is why I’m so confused about it, even now (I know this topic has already been covered). The email says the completion of the survey will not affect admissions decisions but then why would they only send them out to a selected group of people?

It’s odd to me but I guess we’ll know what’s what in 3-4 days.

I was look at some previous threads for UNC and people were denied for little to no reason. I hope you everyone gets into their dream college good luck guys… Thursday is what we are expecting to get the acceptance letters right?

@yagirlki IS or OOS?

OOS

prob out of state its really tough for out of state because of the 18% limit and i saw many high stat out of states denied. they prob didnt have legacy or didnt show enough interest

@yagirlki You have to remember just how selective UNC is for out-of-state applicants.

unc is the only public university that has such a strict restriction on out of state students. 18% oos is really low compared to umich which is 50% out of state. most other public universities like maryland, virginia, wisconsin, and michigan do not have such a strict limit and have a much higher percentage of out of state students.

@Eeeee127 @adp106 yes I understand. This is one of the reasons I’m nervous, but I have family members that went there so maybe I have legacy.? Not my parents though

@yagirlki what r ur stats though?

OOS applicant here. Anybody know the SAT/ACT scores and GPA/rank needed to get in from out of state?
