@annamanna why?
40k applicants only 4200 accepted… acceptance rate has to be lower.
@Joe2015 where are you getting that information from. All I saw “Connect Carolina will be down tomorrow.”
@cloudysmom wow that’s tough I have the same problem my reading and writing scores are really high but math and science in the mid 20’s. To superscore you have to send in multiple test scores and they take your highest score on each section and calculate a composite score that way.
@talleyfenn Nope, 40k applicants for 4200 spots, but probably around 10k will be accepted.
@talleyfenn Wel, they also have to account for people who get accepted and don’t attend. So if it was 10,000 accepted, then that means a 25% acceptance rate - not too far from past years. I really don’t think that CH is gonna drop their acceptance rate to 10% lol.
Oh well, the acceptance rate was 30%. It’s still going to be super competitive and I’m still nervous :’)
@annamanna They’re going to accept more than 4200, not everyone who gets accepted will attend. In past years, applications have been almost 40k with about 10k accepted. That’ll be about the same this year.
Last year acceptance rate was 26 this year will be about 23
It’s probably not going to be a huge drop but it’s been dropping a few points every year so it seems bound to happen.
They also got more applicants this year
Were there fewer in-state applicants this year? If so test scores might be emphasized more for oos students so UNC keeps the same test average even with a potentially lower one from in-state students. Though with 40,000+ applicants, probably they don’t have a small pool of in-state applicants.
That means 4200 expected to be enrolled, not total accepted. They usually accept around 10k and only 4200 actually enroll
Either way, good luck to everyone and hopefully will hear by Friday!
Ya I know that but I’m just saying it might be a little lower than past years @adp106
That’s sounds about right @jacksonspindle
Yes everyone, yield exists. So if they want a class of 4200 they definitely wouldn’t just accept 4200 lol. Yield = amount accepted - amount not attending
Instructions on viewing results now up on the blog.

yeap, you will get an informational email today everyone. good luck in logging in tomorrow…it says when it’s available due to outage.
So what does this even mean… we still see our admission decision in the portal? Like tomorrow probably? Since the email was today? Or will be lol. I read that admissions blog and I’m still confused
