IT person told me that they will definitely be out tomorrow.
Applause to adp106 for figuring out the IT department would talk
do you think middle college students have a better likelihood of getting in? like does it look good to admissions people?
@rosa0463 I didn’t even ask him, haha, I called for some clarification on my ConnectCarolina account and at the end of the call he said “make sure to check back in to your account tomorrow around 4pm when decisions will be released”.
@snapslater When I’ve visited they’ve always said that Dual Enrollment, Middle College, AP classes, and IB classes are all treated equally because they are all college-level education.
@adp106 thank you!
I know that AP classes are ranked higher than dual enrollment classes because those exams are standardized nationwide. Admissions counselors say the same thing.
@chb088 Perhaps this is how most admissions counselors universally see it, but UNC treats all of them the same. AP exams are not even very important in the admissions decisions (which is why they’re not even required). What’s more important is whether the student is taking the most challenging courses available to them and what grades they are making in them. Same goes for Dual Enrollment.
That’s not necessarily true. I asked multiple admissions counselors before transferring to a middle college about the dual enrollment vs. AP thing and they said one is not preferred over the other and just to go with what works best for the student.
@chb088 Really? That sucks for me. I’ve taken classes at Ohio University when my parents thought they’d be better classes than the AP ones at my high school.
@amln1999 UNC is very open about that it is harder to get in OOS than in state. I think someone said at some point that the average ACT for an accepted OOS student is a 35
I actually go to the early college high school in my state. They told me that although dual enrollment is not looked upon more favorably than ap, they still like the experience of the dual enrollment classes better, just because you’ve actually been on a college campus with other college students taking a class. So I think the course work of the two are equal, but the experiences might be different and the admissions officers might put more value on one or another, but just one persons experience.
@bulldog25 anxiously checking every single bathroom break / today is an off day for my dual enrollment courses so I have a 1 hr mid day break.
24 more hours seems so long
26 hours in counting… I’m dyinggggg
@sfeinstein I am in state for UNC, and out of state for UVA. I was wondering the chances of getting into carolina in state and uva OOS
is getting in OOS with a 24 ACT unheard of? even with connections?
see this post…

@amln1999 UNC IS acceptance rate is around 52%. Not nearly as selective as UVA OSS at 22.9%.
Is there a chance UNC could release this afternoon or is tomorrow what everyone is waiting for?
