UNC Class of 2021 EA

Do any of you mind sharing your stats? No email here.

I am disappointed. I didnt get any email either. I hope i can atleast be accepted. I have 35 ACT, 1570 SAT, 790 on math 2 and bio along with 4.0 uw and valedictorian and really strong EC

@Harryp17 Same. Disappointed, didn’t get the email, 35/1580, salutatorian, leadership in many ECs, prior research experience, no SAT subject tests but good AP scores and lots of college classes or APs. Hopefully it’s not all programs that used the email… but I was really hopeful about Honors Carolina

Sounds like only SOME people got asked for additional info…you might both still be in the running. My daughter is also Valedictorian, 1540 OLD SAT, 790 and 780 subject tests, amazing EC’s…but she is OOS so not sure if that may impact things. But based on what I read, it seems like only some finalists, not all, will get the email before decisions are made. So that would imply not all. Good luck!

My guess is those who received the emails are on the bubble.

Hoping at least, because no email here.

Received the email. 2310 old SAT/33 ACT (didn’t send), 4.0/5.3 GPA and salutatorian also in-state which probably makes things a bit easier. 10 APs, but no subject tests.

^ great stats @caligrl14567 ! I guess that blows my theory is was just for peple on the bubble.

Maybe they are just trying to figure out which is the best excel program for her? So she’s not on the bubble, just trying to match her with the best one? I guess we will all know in a few weeks.

It seems those that got an email, like my son, are being asked about more than 1 excel program. It is probably an attempt to make the best match. UNC refers to this as a “survey.” They list a program and then ask the student to select 1st choice- most important, very interested, somewhat interested, not that interested and I believe a 5th option. I am not looking at the survey, just going from memory of what I saw so I may be slightly off in the category descriptions. They ask you to write 3 - 4 sentences on how being in this program will assist you in reaching your academic and personal goals. When you click the forward arrow, another program comes up and you go through these steps. I would not assume no email means anyone is not going to be selected for these programs. It may be they are emailing kids that they couldn’t decide which excel program to consider them for. Good luck to everyone. Just a few more weeks to go.

That makes sense…and it very well may be their very top candidates and they really want these students to come to UNC so they want to get it right. Makes sense.

Can someone please chance me if I provide my stats and stuff?

Does anyone know about what date that I could receive information about my scholarships and financial aid if i get in? I would love to know when I can make a final decision on a college

Hi, has anyone completed the self-report for midyear grades? It says we’re supposed to submit them through ConnectCarolina via the to-do list, but my to-do list is empty and I don’t see any other form for reporting them. Or is this even needed for early action? Thanks!

@mrskite My To Do List is empty also. My mid year report grades won’t be out until after the decision date, but I would like to send them my first quarter grades. I sent my transcript but I guess that’s meaningless.

only certain majors or programs which require research projects received the email as the email was regarding these

My D emailed her 1st quarter grades and her unofficial transcripts from 2 colleges to a specific email address that she found on a FAQ. She received confirmation that they were added to her admissions file.

@AMK467 Which email are you referring to?

@mrskite My son’s college counselor said mid-year reports won’t be sent to schools until late January because by then trimesters and semesters at just about every school should have ended. UNC probably will release decisions before mid-year reports are due.

To anyone who didn’t get an Excel e-mail - I initially did not think I had gotten one until I checked my junk folder. For some of you, maybe the same thing happened. It couldn’t hurt to check. I was of the impression that everybody who selected an opportunity for Excel would receive an email.

@Harryp17 @orwellparasiempre Check your spam/junk folder. I didn’t think I had received it either until I checked it and saw that they had e-mailed me. Also, are you in-state or out-of-state? That’s important as well. I find it odd that you guys didn’t get emails. Your 35 on the ACTs blow my 30 out of the water, but my GPA is a 4.87 so then again testing isn’t the strong point in my application. Anyways, let me know what happens! Good luck!!!
