@clemson22 I have no idea in terms of exact numbers, but when I attended an information session in September, the admissions officer was very frank in stating that they rarely defer applicants – he said that they can typically figure out whether or not you’ll be a good fit for UNC the first time around.
@ls2018 complete opposite of NC State
@Is2018 right!?! I keep going back and forth. They said that 40% of OOS legacy applicants get accepted but I still feel like UNC is such a reach for me
@College0taku Isn’t that weird?! Just goes to show how much the process can vary school by school, I guess.
@nycbaygul Oh my gosh, someone who gets it!! Haha, you’ve summed up exactly how I’ve been feeling these past few months. I have a non-legacy friend who applied, and she always talks about how I’m a legacy so I’ll probably get in and she won’t, and I’m like, “Uh, I still have a 60% chance of getting rejected!” I just can’t wait to finally know so I can be at peace with it, whatever UNC’s decision is.
AHHHHHHHHHHHH
@College0taku yeah, I am pretty sure that B.S. appeared at first in my Student Center, but I am doubting myself right now. Maybe the AS has always been there? My guess now is that maybe all or some applicants for Computer Science are placed in a huge pool regardless of Bachelor of Art or Bachelor of Science and goes on from there?
@Helen5397 Just got in touch with my friend who applied RD. He put down the Mathematics B.S. major on his application, but on his portal it shows up as AS. Hope that helps!
dis tew much
@ls2018 Thank you so much! I am so anxious these few days but can’t do anything else besides stressing over details until they release the decision. 8-X
My heart can’t handle Monday lmao plz release it tomorrow
Hey y’all from a first-year Computer Science major here at UNC: the AS means Associate of Science. I have the same thing too
@tt8082 It will be released tomorrow, trust me. The same thing happened to us last year, keep an eye out on ConnectCarolina tomorrow around 4:00 PM. When they have a red text in ConnectCarolina about admissions, it usually means the release will be soon.
I had to take a few minutes to figure out what the AS stood for on my sons AS is for college of arts and science, youu should still see BS Computer Science besides it.
So if I didn’t receive a financial aid email does that mean I did not get in?
@cdn1267 No, it does not. I did not receive a financial aid email until March but I still got in EA.
Honestly I don’t know what’s worse, the wait or laying in bed with the flu!
must be a really qualified applicant pool if theres a 50% in state acceptance rate and its this hard to get in still
I went to bed early but have awoken and it’s not even tomorrow.
@sunshinemiracle Hi! Do you know why it is labeled as the associate of science?
