Applying for FA: NO! UNC is a great deal.

Note: When I spoke to my guidance counselor he said my schedule was "very rigerous". I'm not quite sure what this means, but I take 2 languages and have taken nearly the most AP's I can.

I’m no expert, but I would say that you’re in. You’ve got great grades and extracurriculars, along with pretty impressive test scores and class rank. I’d be quite surprised if you didn’t get in. I applied EA too, maybe I’ll see you there! Good luck!

Thanks, if I get in I will be screaming so loud you’ll hear me across the country. This whole process has just been so stressful, so I am glad to be able to have people to discuss with and help relieve some worries!

It has all the out-of-state decisions from last year.

In terms of your stats, I would say it could go either way. I applied OOS too and have looked a lot at this link^ and it seems like UNC likes very high weighted GPAs (like 4.5 and above) and you didn’t list what your weighted GPA was but that will be a major factor. Your ACT is good but it’s supposedly equal to a 2180 on the SAT and most of these people (on the link^) have slightly above that. It is very possible that you will be defferred, so keep your 1st semester senior grades up.

Overall, I would say it could go either way. People have gotten in with that ACT before but a high weighted GPA is important, though I’ve seen people get in with only a 4.3ish so again it’s very case-by-case. It seems as though UNC does a very good job of taking a hollistic review of each applicant.

Alright, I just recalculated my GPA using (what I assume as the UNC scale) 6/5/4. My GPA came out to 4.69 which I’m hoping is well above the average needed for an OOS student.
