UNC School of Journalism and Mass Comm vs. Boston University College of Communication

I am currently a college freshman interested in a career in Advertising or Public Relations. I want to transfer to a school with strong programs in these areas. I have been accepted to Boston University's College of Communication, ant to UNC's School of Journalism and Mass Communications. I have visited and love both schools and would be thrilled to attend either one. However, I am trying to determine if one program is much stronger than the other. Does one school have a better reputation with employers in advertising or public relations? Better job placement? Better internship opportunities? Better classes and professors? Any relevant insights would be highly appreciated. I need to make a decisions soon!
Thanks!

Any thoughts, or suggestions on how to learn more would be greatly appreciated!

I would say UNC but BU, being in the city, may give you more real world experience. It really depends on what atmosphere you want, and where you feel most comfortable.

I know this is not exactly what you are asking about, but, as another consideration… Advertising is closely aligned with marketing. Both UNC and BU have business schools. You should look into the ability to enroll in their courses or add as another major or minor. UNC’s Kenan Flagler is much more highly ranked for it’s undergrad business program than BU (and KF has a 97% job placement rate vs BU’s School of Management’s 77%). Kenan Flagler would offer you several options to explore. UNC does allow cross enrollment in different schools, cross majors and minors and KF also offers a business essentials certificate program for non-business majors.
