UNC transfer

hey, i'm a prospective transfer student and i was wondering a couple things. First, how is financial aid for us transfers? Does UNC use Fafsa or CSS profile and when does it need to be in? Also, how hard is it to fit in as a transfer? How are the people like? i'm a pretty laid back guy - how's the general campus atmosphere? Also, i'm asian, is that gonna help or hurt me? About how big is the asian pop. ? Thanks for your time.

i just recently submitted my application as a transfer student. i'm asian too btw. i'm not too sure about financial aid for transfers, but UNC-Chapel Hill seems like they are very good with aid overall, receiving awards in 'best value' categories.

general campus atmosphere? i haven't visited yet, but i assume it to be like a normal huge state school atmosphere.

and yes, you have to submit both the fafsa and css profile by march 1st. it's kinda early, so you better get started. where are you transferring from though? i'm at rutgers right now with a cumulative 3.85 gpa in 30 creds, but with horrible HS stats and SATs.

as for you being asian, i don't think that matters at all.

People for the most part are very nice around here...I can't give an accurate depiction of the campus atmosphere since I'm not an undergraduate, but people seem friendly and its an absolutely beautiful campus!

It seems as if the undergraduate asian population is much smaller than the graduate asian population. The asian community seems to be very tight around here and many live in the same apartment complexes and such. Many of the asian graduate students are not US citizens.

As for the other questions, again, can't really answer them since I'm a grad student and don't have a reason to know anything about fin aid.
