Is anyone thinking of transferring to UNC Fall 2020?
I am starting this tread early to get both replies and help so we can help each other.
Does anyone know if UNC accept senior transfer?
Hi, I’m a transfer student at UNC and you are allowed to transfer a maximum of 75 total credit hours from your previous institution(s) and a max of 64 credit hours are allowed from two-year schools. There is also a minimum amount of credits you have to earn at UNC, but I can’t find the number in my information. So, hypothetically, I suppose you could transfer as a senior but you would have to take quite a hit in your accumulated credit hours. I would call/email UNC undergraduate admissions about hours and also look at the course worksheet for your intended major to get an idea of what they would have you take if you’d still be interested in going.
It is also worth noting that the transfer credit process is a bit strange, and some courses/credit hours (AP, IB as well) may get rejected depending on UNC policy and how they evaluate the course compared to what they want you to take for your major and if they provide an equivalent course. There are, however, requests for re-evaluation you can submit.

I hope this was helpful!
My gpa is nowhere near 3.8, do you think I should still apply? @KCollegesQA
Yes, I think you should still apply. I wouldn’t sell yourself short just because you don’t have a 4.0. Evaluation of grades depend more on your major (and how competitive it is) in the transfer credit process and what you’ve gotten in your major courses, but I can’t say that lower grades on your transcript don’t matter. They’re still fairly important.
Also, I’ve found the information on the min amount of credit hours you have to accrue from UNC to get a degree from them, and it’s 45 credit hours.
